Pringle supports local egg farmers and calls on
Browne Administration to provide necessary concessions
The United Progressive Party (UPP) stands firmly behind our local egg farmers and recognizes their crucial role in the Nation’s food security and agricultural development, says Political Leader Jamale Pringle.
The Party is committed to fostering a thriving agricultural sector that can meet the needs of our people and contribute significantly to our economy, while moving the country ahead of the “blue chicken” mentality of Antigua Labour Party Administrations.
The UPP’s vision for the future of egg farming is one of growth and sustainability. Therefore, Pringle is calling on the Gaston Browne Administration to deliver on its commitment to provide concessions that will help to offset rising production costs for the Antigua and Barbuda Layer Farmers Association – as well as immediate access to the egg box-making machine.
These measures are essential for maintaining a stable egg supply without burdening consumers with significant price increases at a time like this, when the cost of food is already so high, the Political Leader states.
The UPP believes that the Agriculture Industry/Blue Economy deserves the same level of support and concessions as the Tourism Industry, since it envisions a future where our farmers not only feed the Nation but also supply a substantial portion of the hospitality sector’s demands.
The Party is committed to fostering an agricultural renaissance in Antigua and Barbuda, starting with our vital egg-farming sector and the schools’ agriculture programs, so it can replicate the successes enjoyed under Minister of Agriculture Hilson Baptiste.
“We believe in the potential of our farmers, and we are dedicated to creating an environment where they can flourish, innovate, and contribute significantly to our Nation’s prosperity,” Pringle continues.
Therefore, the UPP aims to create an environment where locals can thrive and compete effectively. It will advocate for policies that support our farmers while adhering to the CARICOM initiative to reduce agricultural imports by 25% by 2025.
This approach not only will strengthen our local sector but it will also contribute to regional food security. To this end, Pringle says, the UPP supports initiatives that will lead to better training, increased knowledge, and a more skilled agriculture workforce. By investing in our students and farmers, we can create a more resilient and productive sector, he adds.
While the Party understands the need to ensure a stable egg supply, it believes in policies that prioritize and protect ALL local production. Accordingly, Pringle notes, the Party has enabled its shadow Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. Algernon Watts, to embark on two trips abroad – to the United States and China – to expand his knowledge of international standards and practices and determine what the local sector needs to thrive.
As we move forward, we will continue to advocate for policies that “place our farmers in a position to assist the development of food security for Antigua and Barbuda,” Pringle says. “As the Party has long asserted, ‘Ebrybady must nyam!’”
The UPP remains committed to working collaboratively with farmers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions.

Nah, didn’t think so … Browne can get away with anything untoward with you acolytes.
Not only what about that law WHO want to pass for all nations to give up sovereignty rights.. what about that… he should ask Gaston if he’s going to sign that

@ BRIXTONIAN..You should be ASHAMED of yourself. Look at the state of your party. As an Advisor you have done an AWFUL JOB. All you have is your big mouth., no substance. We shall have one party system in Antigua shortly. Your UPP is dead. Go and hide your face.
From dead dog to egg that’s a upgrade.
LMAO!!!! wah u say? De DEAD DARG nah have no value??
These Labourites vultures. Descending with personal digs and ignoring the issue on hand. Pssst! Labourites! This is about our country, not UPP and whatever challenges they’re having. You are just low-down, dirty, mudslinging carions.
What the idiot DAWG is doing is disenfranchising native born Antiguans. And,as if we don’t import enough stuff,to add to the already over bloated import bill. Aren’t you clowns paying attention? Is all you do spit out whatever the Brown DAWG says? Antigua has very low standards on checking import qualities and you want to deflect from the problem the clow is creating.
This is about local vs imports, not UPP.
Gaston Browne is just a pathetic excuse for a leader who came from the slums and happened onto this position for which he’s totally unfit.
We heard the rest of the story and it’s just the bad-minded DAWG at his best.
@ RUPERT MANN, I admire your honesty for admitting that you want a one-party state; I just wish the other ABLP supporters – and members – would stop pontificating and admit the same.
Gaston Browne dictatorship incoming …
JUST AS I THOUGHT!
Politics In Antigua & Barbuda done!!! 🤬
At this point Pringle has no credibility and or influence on any conversation in the country.
The UPP has no currency at this time. No point in pretending.
ZERO CREDIBILITY!!!! ZILCH!!! Running his mouth like a fool while his house burns down!
Um……er…….now is not a good time 😕 Mr. Pringle
