Pringle: “I Am Still Standing”

UPP leader Jamale Pringle delivered a defiant speech at a political meeting last night, responding to calls for his resignation by declaring that he remains steadfast in his leadership of the United Progressive Party (UPP) despite facing attacks from political enemies. “They think they can destroy the UPP, they think they can get me to abandon you, the people of the United Progressive Party and the people of Antigua and Barbuda,” Pringle said to the cheering crowd.

“It is the fear they have of you—the people—that drives these attacks,” Pringle declared. “They know we are on the verge of taking over. They know the change is coming, and they will stop at nothing to try to hold us back.”

Pringle’s remarks come amidst heightened political pressure, with opponents criticizing his leadership and calling for new direction within the party. Despite this, Pringle framed these attacks as part of a broader effort by his political enemies to undermine both him and the UPP.
