Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle has issued a firm denial of any involvement in the alleged government vehicle procurement scandal, challenging anyone with evidence to come forward and urging a full, independent investigation into the matter.
Speaking at the Vehicle Gate town hall meeting, Pringle rejected claims circulating in political and public circles that sought to link him to the controversy. He described the allegations as politically motivated distractions aimed at undermining his credibility as opposition leader.
“If it is that you’re saying that Jamale Pringle is involved, and you have evidence of that, the person should have put their name on that document and stand by what they’re saying,” Pringle said. “If I’m involved, all the better — let’s have an independent inquiry. Not only into that scandal, but into the Public Works Department as well. Let the chips fall where they may.”
He also dismissed calls for his resignation, saying that political opponents were using the issue to divert attention from what he described as “deep-seated corruption” within the current administration. “Too often we’re being distracted with these red herrings,” he said.
Pringle called for a transparent investigation into the alleged misuse of funds for vehicle purchases, emphasizing that accountability should apply to all public officials, regardless of party affiliation. “We are not afraid of scrutiny,” he said. “What we are calling for is fairness — let the evidence speak, and let the people see who is truly responsible.”
The Vehicle Gate forum, hosted by the United Progressive Party, brought together former civil servants, attorneys, and opposition figures to discuss the ongoing scandal involving millions of dollars reportedly spent on government vehicles without proper authorization.
Pringle’s remarks marked his strongest public denial to date and his most direct challenge to those linking him to the controversy. He urged investigators and law enforcement agencies to act swiftly, insisting that the truth would vindicate him and expose the real wrongdoers.
“This is not a time for political games,” he said. “It’s a time for truth, for transparency, and for the rule of law. If anyone believes I’ve done wrong, bring the evidence — because I have nothing to hide.”

Where is the original certificate or there wasn’t any?
Why is the issue date December 31, 2024 but the printed date is October 14, 2025?
Why is this one printed after working hours?
What does that prove?
Every licensed vehicle in Antigua and Barbuda is issued a yellow card.
That’s not the concern.
The concern is over the sourcing of the vehicle.
Don’t use that to pull a wool over anyone’s eyes.
We are smarter than that.
We are not laboRATs.
The concern is not whether your vehicle is licensed and insured.
Tell us how you procured it.
I saw this picture when it was making its rounds around whatsapp and I just sucked my teeth and deleted it.
I am not politically sided in ANY way shape or form BUT some jackass took a picture of the registration and claimed that he is a part of the “scandal”? And people believe???
Listen….
How many of us actually looked at the document?
Clearly someone at Transport Board decided on Oct 14, 2025 at 4:02 PM to reprint this registration for whatever idiotic reason and post it as a part of the scandal.
Well best believe any vehicle purchased during the last couple years is suspect.
Come on people we are better than this!!!
