UPP leader Jamale Pringle expressed confidence that Kevin Arif Jonas’ resignation as Chairman and Caretaker of the party’s All Saints West branch was a personal decision, not linked to any internal party issues.

Speaking in an interview with Observer Radio, Pringle revealed that he had spoken with Jonas and reassured that the UPP would continue to support him in his future endeavors.

Jonas, the latest member to step down, cited in his resignation letter a desire for a new direction that aligns with his personal and professional values, while expressing gratitude for his time with the party.

This follows other recent high-profile resignations, including that of MP Anthony Smith Jr., who now serves as an independent MP and cabinet minister, and longtime party stalwart Dr. Edmond Mansoor.

Pringle acknowledged that the UPP has faced similar challenges in the past, even before his leadership, but stressed that the party has always rebounded.
