Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle has urged the government to clarify Antigua and Barbuda’s position amid growing military activity in Caribbean waters, warning that the regional buildup could have serious economic and security consequences.
Speaking on Observer A.M. with Dr Jacqui Quinn, Pringle said the public deserves to know how the administration plans to respond to escalating tensions between the United States and Venezuela, which have prompted increased military movements near several islands.
“This is a very serious matter,” Pringle said, calling on both the prime minister and the foreign affairs minister to “sensitize the public” about what is taking place and how it might affect the country.
He cautioned that the standoff could disrupt regional stability, potentially deterring commercial airlines and affecting trade routes critical to small island economies. “We must understand the implications for Antigua and Barbuda,” he said, urging proactive diplomacy and transparency from the government.
Pringle’s remarks come as regional observers report heightened U.S. naval and aerial operations in the southern Caribbean, alongside Venezuela’s continued military exercises near disputed border zones.

What does Antigua government have to do with that? The government already say they want the Caribbean to remain a zone of peace. What else can they do Mr. Pringle? You really making it easy with your utterances for Mr. Lovell to replace you at th convention.

He said, and I quote ” we are friends to all and enemy to none”. Those were his words. This is the time for a clear message on who you stand with, a dictator who was voted out of office ( who refused to leave I might add) or the US who is trying to remove said dictator.
Do you know that Venezuela was once the richest country in the entire southern hemisphere, and now they are one of the poorest? And that has nothing to do with the US, it was a direct result of corruption that was rampant from the leaders of Venezuela which was continuously perpetrated by Mudoro.
Ask the very people of Venezuela about the wicked nature of Mudoro, and they will tell you.

So yes, GB must take in definitive stance for one or the other, because it will come down to what aide and relationship Antigua would have with the first world nations going forward.
Venezuela do not have much to offer right now under this current regime, and hate the US as much as you want, this is not about feelings,and is about strategic and clear cut actions that says where we stand in all of this. This is not a game dude!

CARICOM members of which Antigua and Barbuda is a member has stated their position.
The Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago is not only supporting the US government publicly but her forces are conduction military exercises with the US.
Gaston has announced and is hoping to negotiate a deal in the old CLICO matter.
We have not heard much from Guyana who conducted joint military exercises with US forces not long ago.
Maduro still sends funds to Antigua and Barbuda through the PDV Cab arrangement going back to Hugo Chavez time.
