Browne emphasized the transformative impact of these developments, urging citizens to remain patient as the government works towards tangible progress.

Speaking on Pointe FM Prime Minister Browne stated, “We are committed to improving the quality of life for all residents of Antigua and Barbuda. These road improvements represent a crucial step towards creating safer, more accessible communities for everyone.”

Browne also addressed criticisms and highlighted the broader context of progress in the country, stating, “While we acknowledge the challenges ahead, such as falling inflation rates and ongoing efforts to address education, housing, and food prices, we are confident in our ability to deliver positive outcomes for our citizens.”

Regarding the timeline for the road improvement project, Browne mentioned, “Work will commence this week, and we anticipate significant improvements in community roads by the end of the year. This initiative reflects our government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and leaving no room for criticism.”

In response to comments about Opposition MP Richard Lewis, Browne expressed confidence in the upcoming elections, stating, “We are focused on our vision for the future and remain undeterred by distractions. Our priority is delivering results that benefit all Antiguans and Barbudans.”

  1. For goodness sake Prime Minister Browne, after two terms of broken promises for improving our road infrastructure, you are now HERALDING yet another assurance to the citizens and road users of Antigua that may well yet be broken again.

Please, give us all a break and get the out!!!

      • HERE IS A CLEAR INDICATION THAT GASTON BROWNE IS RUNNING SCARRRED
This road program is the same road program announce in this article recently three weeks ago; and issued in detail in Cabinet Notes.

By announcing it again shows MP Richard Henry has gotten Gaston Browne running scared.
He tried his best to undermine Richard Henry, none of which worked. So, he is rehashing previously announced road program.
MP Henry simply asked for the details surrounding the DCA lease. Based on the fragmented information provided MP Lewis has asked that the lease be cancelled.
Not knowing what to do Gaston Browne announced a previously road repair program as if it’s new initiative.

    • @ Brixtonian,

The play here is that after trying to insult MP Richard Lewis, as a result of the MP initially exposed him in Parliament, and doggedly followed up; and is now asking him to have the lease contract cancelled.
Gaston Browne is now resuscitating the same road program the noted in Cabinet meeting 3 weeks ago.
This is a clear sign Gaston is running scared. He is pulling out the same old tactics. When insult on his opponents don’t damage them, he makes glowing promises.

Gaston is on the ropes. After throwing counter punches that did not land. It’s like the loosing boxer. His team tells him give them something to entertain his fans for they pay a lot of money to see him fight.
With all the high taxes, Gaston is throwing lead punches; hoping he can entertain enough to survive.

  2. starting next week where? can we please have advance notice cause your road workers don’t seem to like to put out proper detour signs.

  3. through its fiscal policy/policies? Gosh, we haven’t even heard of a recommendation…

  4. The PM has been making a few moves which makes me wonder if a snap really election will be called…

Grateful for the work done, ESPECIALLY with the roads, but please make sure the work is done properly!

  5. I’m hearing about community roads, what about the stretch from St. John to St. Paul, to be exact English Harbor? That is suppose to be the highway but it’s more like the byway. Tourism is our main industry but these roads are so bad the people them getting indigestion traveling on them.
The question remains, when will that be addressed?

  6. “Work will commence this week, and we anticipate significant improvements in community roads by the end of the year. – Translation – We will fix a few roads, especially the ones close to AUA and in places where delegates might be housed until after the big SIDS conference, then Maria can go back to whatever she does.

  7. This man will never stop until he is removed from office. He continues to make these regurgitated promises and of course, nothing ever happens. The question is why? He has announced upwards of 40 plus projects and except for PLH, nada. Why?
There’s a thought circulating that it’s a finders fee thing. From this guy’s MO, though only a thought, it is not to far removed from possibility. The man is greedy.
Oh Antigua and Barbuda, what will become of us if this clown remains?
