Prime Minister Browne Reflects on Changing Public Perception After J Truth Interview

Prime Minister Gaston Browne, during his latest appearance on Pointe FM, shared that his recent interview with J Truth significantly impacted public perception, helping counter the opposition’s portrayal of him as “wicked” and “cruel.” The interview, Browne said, opened the eyes of viewers who had only been exposed to negative narratives.

“I was shocked after the program; the number of people who messaged me and said they thought I was some kind of wicked, cruel man. They just had a totally different impression of me,” Browne revealed, attributing the negative image to repeated opposition claims and restricted access to his viewpoints. “J Truth said, ‘You’re not so bad; you’re a good man,’ and people are starting to agree with him.”

Browne suggested that opposition channels, including Observer Media, have contributed to his portrayal in a negative light by not allowing alternative perspectives. The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the interview’s reach, which allowed him to directly address accusations and outline his government’s achievements. He noted that many viewers had never heard his explanations on controversial decisions, which led them to reassess their views.

“This interaction showed people the other side, the decisions we’ve made, and the development efforts we’ve undertaken,” Browne remarked, adding that the conversation helped many see past the opposition’s narrative for the first time.

  1. Prime Minister Hon Gaston Browne that interview was the best ever . I was GLUED to my computer. I saw JTRUTH in a different light. He was very professional. I am a follower of JTRUTH and I was very happy of your appearance on His show. We young people now have a POSITIVE view of Hon Gaston Browne. I would recommend you appear on JTRUTH every THREE months. Prime Minister you did a FANTASTIC job.

  2. J TRUTH media broke record with HON. GASTON BROWNE interview. The following is the PROOF during the PRIME MINISTER Interview on J TRUTH show

    248. SHARES

There is NO media in Antigua ever produced these numbers.

J TRUTH MEDIA has the largest reach in Antigua. Prime Minister , I like the idea to hook up with JTRUTH MEDIA and BROWNE and BROWNE on POINTE FM on Saturdays.

Also, I hope Mr.Knight will invite the Prime Minister on KNIGHT at NIGHTS show.

MR. KNIGHT show is second to JTRUTH

  3. Yeahhhh … let’s give him the job of leader of Antigua & Barbuda for life!

No more by-elections, no more time wasted on voting proceedings; ABEC will be made null and void; and more importantly, no more General Elections.

    Yeahhhh … for our future Dictator-in-chief 🥸

    WHAT A GUY!

  4. The prime minister is so glad to go on a true free media instead of his neo liberal media like ABS and his own radio station that is a total rejection by the people , I think he is walking on cloud right now, but his centrist politics is antithesis of the citizens of Antigua and Barbuda, it’s only help white monopoly capital domination of our lands and resources, we the people are made to feel good from poetic speeches given by these merchant politicians instead of ideological and socioeconomics benifit, j-truth media meant the people will always find a way to triumph over the political elites.

  5. @BRIXTONIAN

UPP is DEAD /DONE / FINISHED.

BRIXTONIAN…Hope you listened to JTRUTH media with Hon. Gaston Browne and POINTE FM on SATURDAY. Hon. Gaston Browne is a true Leader.

Your UPP leader is NO match for Hon. Gaston Browne. BRIXTONIAN wake up and smell the coffee. You and ZACKIE are fighting a losing battle.

It is time for JOANNE MASSIAH and DNA. We need an OPPOSITION PARTY in Antigua .

  6. Immediately after the show, many of these same people were tearing J’Truth to pieces, not they are toning down. Two of them have seen him in a ‘different light ‘ and are calling for their boss to be on his live more often. I’ve never heard that Dictators are psychologists but they seem to have a hold of some weak minds in our society. Gaston should not bear all the blame.

  7. @Pete. I was one of the few to meet with Gaston when he became PM. It was part of my job in another life but we had wide ranging discussions. I was happy to see the ” no more Bird” and hoped we had someone who would have brought about a good nation building focus as he said he would. I believe he intended to do that but the politics and the ALP culture got the better of him and just like he was suspended by Lester from the cabinet, he found himself once again facing the ALP dragon and he succumbed.
So personal enrichment became the Hallmark of his career and will be his legacy. Meanwhile we have an unreal country where bad is now good, wickedness has become the norm and our people have abandoned all their principles. So you and Gaston might be happy now but Antigua is not facing a bright future; at least not for the locals. We have already begun to reap what we sowed and will continue for a long time.

  8. What ah bunch ah hyppppooocritts. Go back to the First ANR article after the interview. Laawwwd. The only thing some ah Dem didn’t call JTruth, was a spineless jelly fish. NOW, after the prime minister gave his opinion, those very hypppooocrits, are singing a different tune. Is a pity god not like man.

  9. What else Gatson Browne is going to say, other than he’s the greatest thing that ever happened to Antigua since slice bread… 😂..

Like I said in the past, all this bragging and boasting is just all hot air..town is still stink to high heavens, and the so-called billions that is coming into the country is not going to the hard working people of Antigua, hence the big ole argument this very prime minister is having with Sandals right now.

So all this talk talk and boasting, do nothing to move the money train into the impoverished neighborhoods in Antigua, not a damn thing.

So start doing your job Gatson, and start negotiating better on behalf of the people of Antigua, because some of your recent negotiations are real head scratchers.

Lait2020 is a huge mistake, and that was done on your watch, and was directly negotiated by you..

So please continue to fool the fools you’ve been fooling, because what I’ve seen with some of your most recent negotiating skills, left way too much on the table, and most definitely will put us backwards, not forward.

  10. @ forked
I can only laugh. PM didn’t see the follow up lives apparently ? Or is there honor among…
That probably ‘ halfcertified lunatic’ named Amin was in his element…cuss cuss cuss. All the RH and scunt and f and mumma that makes him who he is. I don’t care about no disclaimer he hab. He is just a NASTY SHISTER (my opinion)!
    The world gone.

  11. I have developed a different level of respect for the PM after listening to that interview twice. I’m in the hospital so I have time on my hands.

It is by far, the best account of his stewardship in any one setting. He, for the most part, didn’t speak as a politician, but more so, as a technician giving you stats, data and circumstance.

He made himself vulnerable to any questions posed to him and his responses were all realistic.

If you didn’t support or like him personally for whatever reason, your heart must have softened after listening to that interview with an open mind.

You could see that J Truth was also impressed as well. He’s young man and was influenced by what he was being fed and his assumption for what he sees with the naked eye. I’m happy that he chose to invite the PM, and that he accepted.
    .
We have a strong leader who has the interest of Antigua and Barbuda at heart.

If we change him now, we would have eliminated all the progress and potential possibilities for our growing economy.

When you’re not on the inside and don’t have all the intelligence at your fingertips, you can make assumptions and judgment calls on critical issues with the intent to ridicule.

We have an amazing, hardworking cabinet who are doing the best they can with what they have.

God bless Antigua and Barbuda 🇦🇬

  12. Yes absolutely. CNN , ABC and CBS are political machinery’s for the Democrats. They led a smear campaign against Trump. The Democrats spent billions on this election and are owing millions and still lost by a landslide. Trump was vindicated because truth always trump lies. No amount of lies can erase the facts . They tried to convince us that Trump 1st term was a failure but we know how our we prospered economically under Trump and we also know how we suffered economically under Biden.

  13. As a non national living,in Antigua and Barbuda, not knowing the culture of the country that much, but i follow politics alot, even though i came here during the The Bird era, i see Mr.Gaston Browne as one of the best Prime Minister in the whole Caribbean region…

A leader who take a firm stand where leadership is concerned….
