Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda the Hon. Gaston Browne has called on the nation to unify in the transformation of the country into an economic powerhouse.
In his New Year address, Prime Minister Browne reminded the nation of the lessons of the past – a time when leadership incompetence, corruption and the attendant unemployment and reckless value destructive debts, curtailed freedoms that he said held the nation back.
“Our country cannot advance on idleness and idle talk, misinformation and disinformation. Let us recommit to move forward in peace, love and solidarity, in realizing our common vision of transforming Antigua and Barbuda into an economic powerhouse,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that the nation must move forward with courage and commitment, working collectively to advance as one people.
“Together, we can shape a resilient, harmonious, and prosperous Antigua and Barbuda.
Together, we can ensure that our nation’s best days are still ahead. Together we can make Antigua & Barbuda a beacon of prosperity, in which our people thrive in peace and happiness,” he said.
Antigua & Barbuda, under the Gaston Browne Administration enjoyed growth of six percent in 2024, expanding the economy to $6B, represented by economic expansion in every sector to include agriculture and increased climate resilience.

Not with Gaston Browne as the head. You are the master divider.
I thought ABLP was going to create this “economic powerhouse”. Now after so many years and Mrs Querard and others nipping at his heels he finally wakes up and realize that even with UPP defectors, he still needs everyone to build this powerhouse. Tell you what Gaston. You and your style are the obstacles to the proper development of Antigua and Barbuda.
Your style of politics might keep you in power but our country will.remain the poorer for it
How about we start here. Scrap the damn “one nation” concert and use the money to pay the pensioners their back pay. You already shafted them twice and probably holding back to use paying them as an election gimmick.
Stop the political tricks and pay the people their hard-earned money!
Smart move, calling to quiet the opposition or other critics voice to secure the st Peter’s seat, and you know we are a passive society to control. That’s what Gaston is trying to achieve then as he win he let go no hands on cursing people again.
