A pregnant woman was reprimanded and discharged in the Magistrate’s court after she pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and selling alcohol without a license.

The Villa woman who was jointly charged with three others took sole responsibility for the items, which were found at her home and shop.

The woman’s attorney said while his client did not own the drugs, which is estimated at just over $100, she took responsibility since it was found at her home.

Meanwhile, the first-time offender told the magistrate she applied and was granted a liquor license last year but could not afford to pay the fee to complete the process.

The magistrate said she took the woman’s pregnancy into consideration as she cautioned her to ensure she fully acquires a license before dealing with alcohol in the future.
