Mothers of differentlyabled children from the various institutions on the island were treated to a pre-Mother’s Day luncheon on Saturday at the Red Cross headquarters on American Road.
The initiative, undertaken by the Community Development Division’s Humanitarian Outreach Committee, in collaboration with Camp Exceptional coordinated by Camelita Archibald, was held under the auspices of Senator the Honorable Londel Benjamin and his wife.
The Community Development Division within the Ministry of Social Transformation and Human Resource Development is commending a number of businesses and groups that offered support towards the luncheon.
Among them are Sandals Foundation, Galley Bay Hotel, KFC, Flo’s Perfume Plus, Velvet Touch Spa, Oasis and Abbott’s Jewelry. The other supporters are Epicurean Fine Foods, Wishing Well Foundation, C&C Winery, the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross, Royal Retreat and Pink Mangoose.
This is the second year of hosting the Pre-Mother’s Day luncheon for mothers of differently-abled children.
