  1. The truck didn’t pull down any secondary lines…the base of the post is badly rotted…. the post happens to come down at the time the truck was passing and fell on the truck. Thank Gid this didn’t happen while someone was walking by or to a small car.

  2. It is clear that APUA is readily distancing itself from any liability. All around the island, utility poles are leaning at varying degrees; some even supporting transformers and large copper cables. Frequent inspections should highlight faults that could make these giant poles potentially dangerous.

  3. We are at the start of what is expected to be an active hurricane season. I just hope that APUA is paying attention to the resilience and pliancy of its network. There are lots of noticeable poles all over the country that are rotten and needs replacement. Whilst we cannot do anything about nature and its fury, we can mitigate against the damage and outages by ensuring that both poles and wires are durable and properly affixed. It almost always seem to me that as soon as a little more than normal wind blows, the power 🔋 goes out.
