ST JOHN’S, Antigua — ABLP St George candidate Michael Freeland has expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Walcott Lewis, describing him as one of Potters Village’s most respected and steadfast figures.

Freeland said Lewis was “a man of character, strength, and unwavering loyalty,” whose commitment to his community and principles stood out.

“As a stalwart Labourite, Walcott’s dedication to his community and his principles was unmatched,” Freeland said, adding that the loss is also deeply personal.

He noted that Lewis shared a close bond with his late father, Sir Adolphus Freeland, standing “shoulder-to-shoulder… every single step of the way” through both challenges and successes.

Freeland described Lewis as “a constant, steady presence” and a pillar in the lives of many, whose absence will be widely felt across Potters and beyond.

“Walcott, you are never to be forgotten. Your impact on Potters and on our family will live on forever,” he said.

He also extended condolences to Lewis’s family and friends, urging those mourning to support one another during the difficult period.

“Rest in peace, Walcott,” Freeland added.
