Gladys Potter is on a drive to ensure that those who are eligible to vote in St. John’s Rural South are able to do so, come the next general elections.
Potter, the United Progressive Party’s Candidate for that constituency, says she and her team have been meeting, face to face, with young and old residents to chronicle their concerns and to get them registered.
She says it is very important that persons exercise their franchise in order to rid the country of what she describes as a “noose around our necks” – that is, the Antigua Labour Party (ALP).
(REAL NEWS)
Potter says she has been seeing results with respect to the number of new people registering to vote. Further, she says constituents have been expressing to her their readiness for change.

Ok
Every single young person like myself that I know is ready for that.
I noticed on this platform it’s attack attack SOMETIMES LISTENING AND UNDERSTANDING WHAT’S BEING DONE WRONG IS NOT SUCH A BAD THING .
Just in case you think this idle talk every other week 19 of my friends and friends of friends
(age 23-32) communicate via SKYPE and talk about our future and breaking exactly what this article pretty much covered.
We have no group name or ever involved or participate in any political drive
Having growing up with all things RED including elders in their 90’s who has gotten multiple commendations for their early work in ALP will no longer vote by family traditions.
FAMILY AND PARTY GUILTISM will no longer influence our vote .
It’s good that you and your 19 friends know what you are against, but that does not say what you are for, so you have some distance to travel still.
Glady’s its a chain, laced with diamonds not the rope to hang us, you and your crew have planned. Before the covid years (2020 and 2021), this government grew this economy on average 5% every year. Lovell’s time was like a curse, only one almost good year as far as growth, the next year we were headed back to contraction. Next year IMF predicts some 9% GDP growth
We don’t care how you describe Gladys. We will vote for a “chain” to get rid of the Labour Party. Antiguans need to see changes in their lives and country. The country looks the same as fifty years ago. Antiguan youths need well paying jobs and not just as housekeepers and taxi drivers. What has labour done for the average Antiguan after more than fifty years running this country, except making the cabal rich? The Labour government does not build but destroy what PLM and UPP left. We need to send all the old farts and the younger ones, the whole labour government into retirement. We need to end the fuckery that is happening in this country. We need, as a country to move forward. The labour government are old dogs and you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Pray to God the people of Antigua especially the young people, wake up and rid the country of this scourge.
@Tenman: What are you going to do when your Gaston Browne and his old Renegades fall from grace and hit their heads? There would be no more Red Wine at that ABLP TROUGH for you.
Since I expect that would be some at least 3 elections from now, I would be enjoying my retirement and also my children’s achievements. Antiguan’s tend to reward good work via votes. Boss na worry bout my financial future, it not dependent on political party. Its the poor I feel for because the opposition tends to push policies that take more than they give, No Labor party politician before the court for tiefing buses. I expect Armstrong (DPP) will shortly have added feathers in his cap and UPP will be looking for a replacement leader and candidate (psst don’t tell anyone). Have a hanky ready for Tabor
@Tenman
We know that the case against Harold and the others will be brought up during the election campaign. Now people have suspected for a long time that some in the judiciary are a captive audience of the Labour Party so no surprise here. Anyway we still hope that justice will prevail and the Labour Party will not be able to use their people in the Justice system to influence the outcome. Some of the same people who have protected people in the labour government from prosecution by issuing injunctions.
Why is this DPP still around and have added feathers in his cap when people in the same government accused him of corruption? I say captive audience.
Think about the IHI case the the UPP government could not get in the courts
because of all the injunctions. Now Gaston is saying Asot robbed the government of over $200,000us per month regarding IHI, when the labour government filled injunction after injunction to keep the case out of court until they were returned to government and buried it. Now if the Labour government want a case why not proceed with this one, over $200,000us per month, rather than three old used donated busses that were used in the constituencies.
I live in Golden Grove and I will not vote for Daryl Matthew. But I will not give Gladys my vote. She bad mouth Kyron Simon in the last election and refused to support him in Rural South. He beat her in the primary and If I remember, she said on Observer radio she cannot support somebody she does not believe in. And she did not lift one finger to help him.
Well life is a bitch. Now she is the candidate. UPP must stop playing favorite and look for all their candidates. Now is the teenage pageant winner, she thinks everybody must love her and support her. It doesn’t work that way. Now she wants Kyron to support her. Those of us who remember how bad she treat Kyron will not vote ALP but we’re not voting for Gladys either. Lovell must go and mend that fence. He and Giselle allow Gladys to treat Kyron like a dog.
Well said….we are in bondage…Antigua can rise again…our young people need healing….
The last 2 sentences must be written in the UPP playback because it’s the exact same thing Gisele Isaac said regarding the last general elections and look what happened.
Stay scooping your ice cream girl.
Sweetheart you are a blessing. Don’t let them ALP greedy, conniving, no good people who are as corrupt as they come get to you. Keep your head high. You are a hard worker and you will win.
The UPPITES were the worst government in Wadadli history. We will never ever forget their pathetic performance. This so called new team wearing the same old clothes filled with holes and falsehoods will not win the next election. They continually used the same play book filled with deceptions and false promises. Opposing everything will not change the dynamics. Some of these candidates will loose their deposits. We will never forget how vindictive and hostile you govern Wadadli.
Yes Bullombo we know you talk the truth baby. Tell them and sing the truth sweetheart. You know we always behind your bottom pushing you hard each and every ram. We love to see your lips pucker with every pressing. We line up behind you waiting our turn. Sing the truth baby. Sing
@ Bullombo is a lost case that drank way too much red cool aid always talking crap like Tenman, Crazy Betty’s Hope and all the other Gaston puppies stand watch on this forum.
What has Gaston done for Antigua where’s the Caribbean economic power house . Where’s the billion dollar investment .
TRIED TO GET SOME LAND AND WAS SHOWN A AREA BY THE GOVERNMENT AGENCY .THE PERSON JOKING TOLD ME DON’T LOOK OVER TO THE RIGHT BECAUSE ALL THOSE LANDS BELONG TO GASTON🤦. And those were the ones I’m interested in not the crap they were showing me shuups .
Any government lands Gaston got while in office should be confiscated by a new government. Perhaps one reason Gaston will fight hard to retain power is so he can sell them off and pocket the money. Maybe more free economic zones.
Gladys Potter is the DUMBEST Politician in Antigua. Who will vote for this woman. Gladys will lose Her deposit.
@Sam P.
Maybe are we no need no smart ass politician like Gaston. All people like him do is use his smarts to rob the country blind.
