Political Leader Pringle Addresses Delay in Announcing UPP Candidates

Political Leader of the United Progressive Party Jamale Pringle is acknowledging a setback in the United Progressive Party’s (UPP) timeline for naming its candidates for the next General Election.

“A few weeks ago I said that during the month of October, I would name at least 10 candidates to contest on behalf of the Party,” Pringle says.

At the last General Council meeting, held October 13, the Political Leader confirmed the positions of the five sitting MPs – All Saints East and St. Luke; St. Phillip South; St. John’s Rural West; St. George; and St. Mary’s South.

In addition, he reports, five other Branches had completed ratification of their caretakers. However, he explains, “several elements have to be taken into consideration, including some of a personal nature, and the Party is allowing time for these to be settled before these persons are named.”

Notwithstanding this, Pringle assures that the entire selection process is nearing completion and the Party is preparing for the announcement.

The UPP’s meticulous approach to candidate selection comes against the backdrop of recent defections and amidst supporters’ desire for a greater demonstration of political commitment by applicants.

  1. Ready to run A&B? He did not know all of this before he made the announcement? These are things he and his party have control over yet he failed to deliver in his own time-line. Then there is the push to give awards to party stalwarts during independence celebrations when the focus should be on national unity. Clearly the decision making of UPP leadership is lacking.

What is the ABLP doing? Today Point Express has the Financial secretary pointing out that not only have we seen growth in 2024, we have beat the IMF projections and will see growth between 7 and 8 percent (one reason is the 16 percent increase in visitor arrivals in comparison to 2023). Don’t blame the ABLP because the UPP is in decline.

  2. LIAR. LIAR . Noboby wants to run on your slate. You cannot name Anyone because the CARETAKERS are quitting before They start. Who wants to work with a PUPPET driven by D.Gisel Isaac the PUPPET MASTER.
Give up the DAMN Leadership. UPP has IMPLODED / ERADICATED.
Listening to BROWNE and BROWNE program on POINTE FM Saturday. Pringle is NO match for Hon. Gaston Browne. Pringle is the LAUGHING stock of the Caribbean. He should enroll in UWI to develop Himself. SHAME SHAME.
UPP gave out Awards for STUPIDITY.

  3. I am waiting to hear what Mr. Knight has to say about His BLUE FLY tonight. Hope the wing is healed. I DO NOT believe Pringle. There are other reasons why He cannot release His slate of CANDIDATES. Upp cannot find Anyone to run on Their slate.

  4. this DEAD DOG PICKER UPPER needs to do wayyyyy better! Jumping the gun and promising 10 new candidates to distract fromt he MASS EXODUS, QUIET RESIGNATIONS brought on by the “CHAOS DEMON” and now doing an “Oops!”
