POLICE URGE BUSINESS OWNERS TO BE EXTRA CAUTIOUS
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Monday, May 6, 2025
The police are appealing to business owners across the island to remain on high alert and exercise extra caution, following a recent robbery incident in which an individual was attacked while attempting to make a deposit at a local financial institution.
To enhance everyone’s safety, business operators are encouraged to adopt more discreet and secure methods for transporting and depositing daily earnings. Avoiding routine deposit schedules and utilizing available security services can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a target.
Additionally, proprietors are strongly advised to invest in reliable security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and proper lighting around their business premises to enhance safety and deter criminal activity.
The police have since increased patrols and surveillance around banks and other financial institutions to provide added security and reassurance to the public.
Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious activity by calling 911 or contacting the nearest police station.
The Police Administration remains committed to protecting the business community and will continue to work diligently to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.

Antigua is the thief capital ot the Caribbean from those in jacket and tie to the ordinary man wearing his pants below the boxer shorts, what depths we have sunk to and it’s not getting g better any time soon
That’s one crime going unsloved when we should have had one injured criminal, one damaged motor vehicle and two men surrendering to the police.
Why did the man who was robbed, whose identity i know, not ram the vehicle?
I am sure the business place on whose behalf he was acting would gladly repair his vehicle knowing that their money was recovered and three criminals behind bars.
Criminals do not love attention.
When one was pinned in the vehicle the others would flee.
Even after the person robbed refused to ram them he still didn’t follow them while on his phone with the police.
I am disappointed in him.
Big time!!!!!!
What craziness of going to aym at nights or to deposit safe?
