Several persons were arrested and taken into custody by police after they were found wilth illegal drugs and other prohibited items in their possession.
Around 3:00AM on Sunday, police were on mobile patrol in the area of YMCA and carried out a search on a beige and black Mini Cooper motor car, A50110, driven by Lev Josiah of Clare Hall.
The search turned up a quantity of cannabis and an undisclosed sum of US and EC currencies. Similar items, along with several pieces of camouflage clothing, were also found at his Clare Hall home and seized. The items along with the car were taken to the police station, pending further investigations.
Similarly, a search was carried out on a premises at Donavans, known as “Run Things,” on Saturday, and a quantity of cannabis and an undisclosed sum of money were found. Kingsley Charles of Hatton was taken custody.
Also, a property known as “The Pub” in Paynters was searched and the police discovered money and controlled drugs. The items were confiscated, and Shawnique Williams of Paynters was taken into custody. This incident also occurred on Saturday. Investigations are continuing into these matters.
