Police Search for Suspect Who Stole Visitor’s Bag
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Saturday, November 1, 2025
Police are investigating a report of larceny involving a visitor at Old Runaway Beach.

Reports indicate that sometime between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 31, a visitor reported that her brown shoulder bag containing travel documents, a rental vehicle key, wallet, several identification and credit cards, and a sum of cash was stolen from her vehicle while parked at the beach.
The police responded to the report and were successful in recovering the bag and most of its contents. However, the cash was unaccounted for. The items were returned to the visitor, and investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspect(s) involved.
The police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or who may have information that could assist in this investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 462-3913.
Meanwhile, the police are urging both residents and visitors to remain vigilant and take precautions to secure their personal belongings, especially when visiting beaches and other public places.
The Police Administration is further appealing to members of the public to play their part in safeguarding visitors and supporting efforts to protect Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism industry, which remains vital to the nation’s economy and reputation as a safe destination.

Why is there no security on the beaches? Oh drat. I forgot. This is Antigua. We have no Police Force worth a damn. When will it end? When will it change? Change for the better. Not until crime hits rock bottom. Not until the World Boss gets hands-on involved. Not until he and the people of this country confront the fact that with the possible exceptions of Max Fernandez and Anthony Smith, the entire Cabinet is useless.
