Police Satisfied with General Outcome of 2025 Carnival

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda – Friday, 8 August 2025

The Police Administration is expressing its satisfaction with the overall outcome of the 2025 Carnival season, which concluded on a safe and peaceful note.

With the exception of a few minor incidents, the festivities proceeded without any major disruptions. This positive result was made possible through the collective efforts of the public, law enforcement, partner agencies, and event organizers, all working together to ensure a secure and enjoyable celebration.

The Police Administration extends sincere appreciation to members of the Royal Police Force of Antigua, Brigadier General Telbert Benjamin, and the dedicated men and women of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force for their unwaivering support throughout the season.

The Administration also wishes to acknowledge the support from the Honourable Prime Minister, Gaston Browne, Sir Staedroy Benjamin, The Honourable Daryll Matthew, the Ministry of Creative Industries and Innovation, the Festival Commission, and the entire media fraternity for their invaluable roles in ensuring the smooth flow of information, effective coordination, and the overall success of the season.

Acting Commissioner of Police Everton Jeffers stated: “This year’s Carnival once again highlighted the best of our culture, the unity of our people, and the strength of our community partnerships. We are grateful to every citizen, visitor, and stakeholder who demonstrated responsibility and respect for the law, and who heeded the safety guidelines and advisories issued ahead of the festivities. Your cooperation was vital to this successful outcome.”

The Royal Police Force remains committed to working closely with the public and all partners to build on this achievement and to ensure that future national celebrations are equally safe, well-organized, and enjoyable for all.

  1. This Carnival showed that we don’t have to choose between fun and safety. With teamwork from the police, Defence Force, government, and the public, we had both, and that’s a model for every national event.

  2. This wasn’t luck, it was planning, discipline, and respect from all sides. Carnival 2025 is proof that when the community stands with law enforcement, the results speak for themselves.

  3. This is the kind of news we want to read. If I must be honest this is the first time in my history of following ANU carnival that it has been incident free. Commendation to everyone who made it possible.

  4. This positive outcome is a win for all of us. A safe Carnival means a great experience for both locals and visitors, which is a big boost for our tourism industry. A massive thank you to all the mas players, performers, event organizers, and vendors who contributed to the success of this year’s festival. Their creativity and hard work are what make our Carnival so special. I’m already looking forward to 2026!
