Police Recover Stolen Phones After Upper Gambles Home Break-Ins

Police have recovered multiple stolen mobile phones following two burglaries in Upper Gambles, with losses totalling around $5,000.

In the first incident, a woman was awakened at 5 a.m. on Friday by scratching sounds at her bedroom window.

A man, described as slim, dark-skinned, about 5ft 8in, wearing black cargo pants and a hoodie, fled after stealing her iPhone worth $3,000. Police later found a red bag containing the device and other phones near Fort Road. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHAT’S APP GROUP

A second burglary on Lauchland Benjamin Drive late Thursday night saw thieves steal three phones valued at nearly $2,000. Both break-ins involved entry through unlocked windows after removing mosquito screens.

Investigations are ongoing.
