POLICE SEARCH FOR SUSPECTS INVOLVED IN WOUNDING CREW MEMBERS
Police are searching for a group of men allegedly involved in the wounding and robbery of two crew members from a vessel docked at Heritage Quay.
The alleged incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, along Popeshead Street.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the two male crew members were reportedly walking back to their vessel when they were approached and attacked by a group of men.
During the incident, both victims sustained multiple injuries.
One victim sustained injuries to his face and head and was treated on the spot.
The other crew member sustained several wounds to his head and arm and was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre. His condition is serious but stable.
A backpack containing personal documents and a small amount of cash was stolen during the incident.
The Police Administration condemns this senseless act of violence and remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of both residents and visitors to the country.

Before you left Antigua those were the good old days when you could leave your house open and go to town. We have now been transformed into GANGSTERS PARADISE. From Politician to the Ordinary Man, everybody on the hustle
We need to protect our bread and butter much better. Tourism is our main source of income. We cannot afford to have these tugs ruin it for us. I have called on the Minister of Tourism to establish a special Tourism taskforce to protect our bread and butter. They do not need to be armed with guns. But they must be visible everywhere on days when their are ships in harbour. They perhaps need to be outfitted with proper radios and have direct communication with the police, who they can call for assistance. When you have guests visiting you, you make sure no harm is done to them. I’m having guests here for Carnival and I already tell them no secluded beaches like in the old days. You only go to beaches that have hotels. Because at least the hotels have security guards. Max do something quick about the safety of our guests. Those tourist dollars is what feeds many of us. Look what happened during Covid when they were not coming.
