Police Probe Stabbing of Teen at Youth Rally

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua — Police are investigating a stabbing that left a 16-year-old boy injured during Wednesday’s Youth Rally at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 1:20 p.m. as the Bolans resident attended the event with hundreds of students and spectators.

The victim told investigators he was approached by three young men who attacked him with a knife. Witnesses said the assault happened in front of onlookers before bystanders intervened, prompting the assailants to flee toward the stadium’s main gate.

Emergency personnel treated the teen on site and transported him to the hospital. His condition has not been disclosed.

Police said they recovered several items believed to be connected to the attack, including a knife and a pair of sunglasses allegedly left behind by the suspects.

Investigators are working to identify and locate the three attackers. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department or the nearest police station.
