Police in Antigua are investigating a series of break-ins this week that left homes and businesses ransacked and valuables stolen.
In Yeptons, two houses were targeted in separate incidents. Intruders forced entry through unsecured windows and doors, stealing fishing rods, jewelry, an air-conditioning unit, and a leaf blower. Searches for the stolen property proved unsuccessful.
In Clarkes Hill, a residence was broken into between 6:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. The house was thoroughly ransacked, and thieves escaped with a vault containing cash and ammunition.
On North Street, officers responding to an attempted burglary at a business caught a suspect fleeing the scene. Packages were recovered nearby and identified as belonging to the establishment. Police said entry had been gained by breaking the lock on a western door.
Forensic teams processed all the crime scenes, and investigations are continuing as officers work to assess the value of the stolen property and identify further suspects.

Again, we’ll hear absolutely NOTHING about resolving growing crimes from Prime Minister Browne. Fact!
How did we end up with such a talkative yet do nothing leader.
24/7 patrols are now warranted to let criminals know that our police and security services mean business.
I’ve never known such crimes taking place in my once safe, secure and sound country. Scary times indeed!
STAY SAFE EVERYONE 🙏🏾
They won’t stop
The government should get solar powered streetlight with camera combination out of china to replace all existing streetlights system and help the police and government solve crime.
The problem is that we, the people of this country, are behaving like if we are not a part of the planet, Earth. Crime, all types, are on the upsurge all over the world. Don’t behave like if this is only Antigua. Crime is a way of life. We, all of us, must change our habits and life styles. We must become security conscious. We must invest in alarm systems. We must ensure that our buildings are secure. Alot of these burglaries are because doors and windows were not locked. Wake up. And as a matter of interest 90% of those in prison are Antiguans and Barbudans. So don’t be quick to cast the blame else where.
@ Biggs
You Sir, must be a special type of idiot, crime is all over so does that mean that people should not be alarmed about the phenomenal increase here, we have an idiot such as you in charge of public safety and cannot even come up with a sensible solution. If you have children they must be ashamed of you
“These burglaries are frightening. As a resident, I’m fearfully hoping I’m not the next target—or even my neighbour. We need stronger community protection and visible police presence to deter these crimes. No one should feel unsafe in their own home.”
Fear has crippled Antigua, what a thing, and this foolish Administration say that Antigua has progress. You mean regress, that should be the word.
Many of these ABLP supporters has come on ANR and accused the UPP of burying their heads in the sand, Gatson Browne himself has blame everything on the UPP ( who is not in office by the way) and here we are reeling and reeling in crime, and this inept administration continues to put out propaganda reports that Antigua has progress over the past 15 years.
Like I’ve said in previous post, if this is what progress looks like, then I don’t want to see what struggle looks like in Antigua.
And@ Biggs. Like @ former ALP Voter said..you have to be a special type of fool.
Like you and your ABLP government, this is the soft view you all have on crime..a bunch of weak fences that these criminals just post up and lean on. You’ll do not have the stomach to go out and fix anything. And bunch of weaklings.
This Administration is great on Campaigning, and is good at the art of politics, I give them that. They are great at spreading propaganda to bamboozle the people of their votes, but this Administration isn’t good at governing and actually carrying out their political agenda and actually bring real progress to the people of Antigua.
This government act like they are still in campaign mode, they are still acting like they are fighting for their seats, instead of doing the work of the government.
They try to equate themselves to the trump administration, but they are far from it..at least this Trump administration (like him or not) is carrying out the will of the people(majority) and executing it’s agenda to the T.
Actions you ABLP fools..that’s what the people of Antigua needs right now..not sound bites like y’all are still campaigning for a seat at the table.
The criminals that are running from the various parts of the Caribbean, especially from Jamaica, DR, Trinidad, are heading straight to Antigua to terrorize the people, because they know this Administration is soft on crime.
Facts. Immigration has to change.
Three more years of this administration, will be a death sentence to many residents, trust me.
