Police Continue Probe Death of Female Police Sergeant

Police are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of Sergeant Iyo Malone-Merchant.

Sergeant Merchant was pronounced dead at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center on Friday, March 14 at 2: 21pm, as a result of an alleged gunshot wound. The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 pm.

The Police Administration expresses condolences to her immediate family and colleagues as they continue to investigate the incident.

Acting Commissioner, Mr Everton Jeffers wishes to thank all those who have been reaching out to offer condolences to her family, colleagues, and close friends on her passing.

There are many others in that force who are mentally unwell…I am not making fun of this topic this is really serious….ppl who are in the armed forces must get regular physical and mental check ups……Just like pilots do sim to make sure they still know how to fly an aircraft safely I think officers need to go through something similar…RIP to S.Sgt Malone-Merchant and condolences to her family and loved ones….
