The St. John’s Rural South Constituency is set to mark a major milestone in community safety this Friday, February 14, 2025, with the official commissioning and opening of its new Police outpost.

The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m., celebrating the realization of an initiative spearheaded by the Hon. Daryll Matthew, who has been the driving force behind the project.

The establishment of the Police outpost was the brainchild of Hon. Daryll Matthew, who has long advocated for enhanced security measures to protect residents.

“This outpost is a testament to our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone in St. John’s Rural South,” said Hon. Matthew. “I am excited to formally commission this facility, which will serve as a vital resource for our community.”

The new outpost is expected to improve emergency response times, strengthen community-police relations, and provide a visible presence to deter crime.

Equipped with modern facilities, the outpost will be staffed by a dedicated team of officers focused on serving the needs of the constituency.

The commissioning ceremony will bring together residents, local officials, and law enforcement representatives to celebrate this achievement.

Hon. Daryll Matthew expressed gratitude to the community for their support and emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving safer neighborhoods.

As the constituency continues to grow, the Police outpost represents a proactive step toward ensuring the safety and security of all residents.

The community is invited to attend Friday’s ceremony and witness this historic moment in the ongoing efforts to build a safer St. John’s Rural South.

  1. Good news,i hope this will always be a part of the National Police community base youth clubs movement of Antigua and Barbuda 🇦🇬, just to encourage police officers to play a leadership role in every community across the country…

  2. A new police outpost does not bring safety. What brings safety is the availabilty of police officers to ensure safety in the community. The availablity of vehicles for these police officers to respond and also real officers who responds to crimes for real and not play. yeah, these type of things.

  3. Ok, let’s cut to the bone now, Mr Mathew, I am glad that a police out post is going to be in st. John’s rural south one should have been there a long time ago but remember this, it has to be maned by a team of police officers and not just one or two, they must always have transportation at their disposal, and it must be opened to the public 24/7 not like some of the others that close their doors late nights otherwise it will not serve its purpose. The criminals and dem now nar joke, in case you no notice.. good luck
