Police Officer’s Social Media Post Supporting Convicted Entertainer Sparks Backlash
A social media post allegedly shared by a police officer in support of convicted entertainer Harrison “Jesse Fyah” Horsford has triggered criticism online and prompted concern about public trust in law enforcement.
The controversy erupted after a Facebook post circulated showing the message: “Jesse Fyah fam, it is what it is. Life goes on. Just one stumbling block we will pass over it.”
The post appeared shortly after Horsford was found guilty of indecent assault and serious indecency in the High Court.
Critics argued that the remarks appeared dismissive of the seriousness of sexual offences, particularly given the officer’s position within the police force. One widely shared response from the social media page “True Crimes Antigua” questioned whether a police officer should publicly characterize the conviction as “just one stumbling block.”
The post stated that members of the public expect police officers to uphold “law, justice, protection, and accountability,” adding that comments perceived as minimizing criminal conduct could damage public confidence.
It further argued that sexual assault “is not a joke” and warned that statements of that nature reinforce concerns among some citizens about how certain officers relate to offenders.
The criticism gained traction online, with many social media users debating whether law enforcement officers should publicly express support for individuals convicted of serious crimes while appeals or sentencing processes remain outstanding.
On Thursday, the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda confirmed that an investigation had been launched into a social media post allegedly made by one of its officers following a recent court matter involving a sexual offence.
In a brief statement, police said the matter was being treated seriously and offered apologies to the victim and anyone affected or offended by the post.
Horsford, a well-known local entertainer, was convicted earlier this week after a jury trial in the High Court. Sentencing is expected at a later date.

I dont support his crime but a person can’t have an opinion, even if they are a police officer? Should we condemn his family as well if they continue to support him?
is it any different than the way you alk treat Buju after his conviction
And victims will wonder why nothing is being done when they make reports of assault to the police.
I see many people are of the opinion that speaking truth to power is the same thing as judging someone.
No folks, the real judgement is to come, so it is up to us to correct our brothers, sisters, family, friends, and even our enemy, so that they wouldn’t face that judgement that is to come.
Calling out wrong doing is way more noble than keeping silent about it. This officer has a right to her opinion, just like all of us, but do not think that rights cannot be criticized. You have a right to your opinion, and everyone else has a right to a rebuttal.
Deal with it.. If you are too sensitive for social media these days, stay off of it..that’s my advice.
And@ the world. I still see that accountability is a fleeting thing for many of you..get a grip dude..she is dead wrong. Call the damn thing what it is for once. This pandering to wrong doing just have to stop for us to get better as a people. You are making her move a small matter just as she’s making the rapist move a small matter in the same.
It has to stop, or just shut up.
She OUTTA ORDER
Fire her r@ss bout a stumbling block. He traumatized and abused a woman.
I hate these grimey b!+ches.
WHAT THE HELL WOULD THEY BE INVESTIGATING HER FOR? WHY THEY DO NOT GO AND INVESTIGATE THE POLICE. WHO KILLED THAT YOUNG MAN IN BOLANS LAST YEAR.GO AND INVESTIGATE THE CASE OF THE LITTLE GIRL KILLED BY THE SPANISH WOMAN.GO AND INVESTIGATE AND UP DATE THE PUBLIC ON THE LATE MP ASOT MICHAEL’S CASE.YOU THE POLICE SEEMS TO HAVE TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS TO INVESTIGATE BULL CHIT.HOWEVER,CASES OF REAL SIGNIFICANCE ARE SWEPT UNDER THE DAMN RUGS.GET YOU ALL ACTS TOGETHER FROM THE TOP TO THE BOTTOM.

MAYBE PERSONS FEEL A WAY BECAUSE OF THE CHARACTER ATTACHED OK.
some persons do not take police job seriously.they go to help and foster criminals.
And if anyone has had dealings they would understand why.not first last or second. That is not her family.
