Police Investigate Early Morning Shooting on Lower Nelson Street
Police are investigating a shooting that occurred around 12:45 a.m. Sunday near a supermarket on Lower Nelson Street, St. John’s.
According to reports, a silver vehicle pulled up near four individuals, and a gunman exited the passenger side, fired several shots, and fled in the vehicle heading east. No one was injured.
Officers collected evidence at the scene, but the suspects remain at large. Anyone with information is urged to contact police or call Crimestoppers anonymously.

As we approach the Carnival season, the security services -the police and the army, must immediately up their game. Traditionally, we always see a spike in criminal activities at this time and by the look of things, the criminals have gotten off to a very early start. Residential and business owners must improve their security acumen immediately. It is frightening but that is where we are now in Antigua and Barbuda.
Lower Nelson Street ain’t a place for this kind of violence—what’s going on?
Another shooting? When will it end? Families must be terrified.

This issue is even more dangerous since the criminals were asked during the amnesty to discard the ‘hot weapons that might have shot or killed anybody’.
