Dominica police have arrested several individuals following a protest in Roseau on March 19 that escalated into clashes with police, including the use of tear gas and rock bullets, injuring several.

  1. What seem to be happening in Dominica is a swift march towards a police state and a tyrant in Government. The government is clearly using the police force to stamp upon people’s right to picket and protest. I do not think that anyone would have imagined such autocracy and oppression in Dominica.

  2. The same Dominicans come here and support Gaston Browne to do the same things to we Antiguans and then boast, that them support Labour Party to death, Them even established an Antigua/Labour Party and Dominican friendship association.
Their Prime Roosevelt Skerrit follows every move that Gaston Browne makes and they knows that very well. With over 10,000 of them living here and they all support Gaston Browne, in Tear Gasing us the same dam way, so why should Antiguans sympathises with them now.
Let them go and fight their own Dictator and stop Meddling in Antigua’s politics.Them all that Gaston Browne is a wicked man, yet elections after elections, he can depend on them to help him to continue to keep down Antiguans.
Now !! they have a Dictator in their own country, so what they a bawling about ???. What soever a man sows, that shall he also reap.
I am no hypocrite, I speak it like I see it and all who don’t like or agrees with what I am saying, are just as guilty as their Dictator, Roosevelt Dkerrit, who is a known protege of Gaston Browne.

  3. Vincent, get facts or say nothing cuz I am Dominican and in NO way support GB! This news is misleading as well, they gathered for a peaceful protest then started stoning the police n removing the barricades. Was the police suppose to let them continue without any law and order????

  4. People are responding to what the headline says, if that is so that is wrong, people have the right to their own opinion

  5. Vincent… Your anger is misplaced. The Dominicans fighting this Ayatollah aren’t the ones who’d come Antigua to vote Gaston Brown. The ones supporting G.B are happy with the dictator in Dominica. But these cowards dare not go back n live under him…. Too bad they may give y’all a dictator to. They’ll just move onto St Kitts by then…

  6. I have known and loved Dominicans from since the nineteen sixties, when they started coming here, my mothet had three houses in our yard, and all of them were occupied by Dominican families, whom occupied them for years, for decades. I grew up with Dominicans since I was a child and I could never have anything bad to say about any single Dominican, but all of a sudden and I just don’t know why, but these Dominicans whom begin to come here lately, are ungrateful and has turned against Antiguans, are supporting this ruthless Antigua Labour Party and Gadton Browne with impunity, while they are witnessing the wickedness perpetrated on the People of Antigua and Barbuda, by this Narcissistic leader.
As far as I know, Dominicans are always welcome here. In the days when Fig boats use to come here, Dominicas never have to use passport to come to Antigua, or to get around the country and would leave the boats after finishing working and would go to their various girlfriends yard, in Grays Farm, Green bay and the Point Area, without any form of hindrance.
What I am saying is the truth and who don’t like me, them can go to HELL, whether Dominicans or Antiguans.
The Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit of Dominica, was once a good and decent man, but he has been following Gaston Browne’s Dictatorship style of a Leadership for quite some time now, hence !! he has eventually turned on his people. Dominicans has accused Roosevelt Skerrit of siphoning off his country CIP revenues, just like his prodigy, Gaston Browne without giving any sort of financial clarity pertaining to the CIP funds and has made themselves rotten rich at the expense of their people, whom they has severely pauperised.

  7. Gaston tried the same thing at Katel Hill im Barbuda a month ago. He had the riot squad ready to go into action.

We did not take the bait, for we know the media is not balance and we would be made the perpetrator.

Riot squad is watching the counting of the ballots this evening.

Skeritt and Gaston are Siamese twins.
Dominicans are political animals meaning they do not support leadership, they support political handouts.

Their idea of good government is how much handouts they are able to get from a politician.

Antigua Labor party offers more handout than Dominica’s and that primary why the Dominicans are here in Antigua and Barbuda.
ABLP loves them and welcomed them, for they are the swing voters for ABLP

  8. This is clearly intended on tarnishing the reputation of the DLP and the image of Dominica. Poor journalism. Please get the facts. I live in Dominica. The UWP planned on storming parliament, pelted stones and bottles at the police, broke barriers and is now playing the victim having to face the consequences of their law breaking activities.

  9. There are too many wanna be DICTATORS in the Caribbean. People, you are in charged. You know what to do.And when to do it.So, just do it now.Not tomorrow or the day after, NOW.
