This week, two employees of the Central Board of Health have been charged by the police in relation to an alleged diesel theft operation.

Derrick Wade from Villa and Hubert Cortright Josiah from Paynters have been charged with Larceny and Unlawful Possession.

They are accused of jointly stealing 40 gallons of diesel and have also been charged separately with unlawful possession.

One of the accused allegedly had 43 gallons of diesel at his home while the other reportedly had 7 gallons.

Both individuals are expected to appear in court later this week.

The police have stated that the matter is still under investigation.

The diesel that was allegedly stolen was meant for use by the Vector Control Unit employees to spray stagnant water locations throughout the country in order to prevent mosquito breeding.

The workers are said to have colluded to siphon the diesel which they collected each morning to carry out their duties.

  1. Only politicians are allowed to steal in Antigua and Barbuda and get away with it so if you’re not a politician leave stealing alone
