The police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying and apprehending the suspects involved in a shooting incident that left four young men nursing gunshot injuries.
Initial reports indicate that around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 5, four males between the ages of 17 and 20 were walking along Corn Alley when an unknown assailant discharged a firearm in their direction.
As a result, three of the victims, all aged 17, sustained injuries to their feet and thighs, while the eldest victim received an injury to his left hand.
The injured individuals were transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre by police officers and Emergency Medical Services personnel.
Medical officials have reported that all four victims are in stable condition and are currently receiving further medical treatment.
The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a white Toyota Belta motor car. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
The police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information regarding the suspects or the vehicle involved to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call the Crimestoppers anonymous hotline at 800-TIPS (8477).
The Police Administration strongly condemns this brazen act of violence and is appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information that can assist in bringing those responsible to justice.

The more reason to have 24/7 police patrols that the country has been forever calling out for. Policing isn’t a 8 to 4 job. The hardworking taxpayers know it; those who want to have a peaceful night out know it; and most of all our vulnerable women folk know it as well.
The power to do this STILL lies with our Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin and Prime Minister Browne. Fact!
As the saying goes, “Nothing good happens after midnight”.
Early this morning, a popular singer was shot dead in St. Kitts. Gun crime is everywhere in the Caribbean at the moment not just in Antigua. Plan accordingly.
The police can be out patrolling 24/7 and persons still get shot. Even if the prime minister and Cutie say patrolling, or have gun amnesty, people will still get shot.
We are living in a sinful world. Unless we humble ourselves, turn from our wicked ways and cry out to God, so that he can hear us from heaven, answer us and cleanse our lands; there will always be stabbing, chopping, shooting and theifing.
Let us examine ourselves. Are loving our neighbors as ourselves? Are we loving and honoring or parents?
Are we trying to train our children the right way?

All these scary news of recent, and I am here planning to relocate to Antigua.
It appears I have to reconsider my decision.
In the streets it’s getting hot
And de youths dem ah get so co-o-old
@Boogie.
So why have a government then? If nothing can be done, why you send up prayers to heaven for these very leaders?
So if their is no punishment for the unjust, then why even have laws?
This is not about sin or whether it will stop,no it won’t, and you’re correct in that argument, but justice is a two edge sword, and that sword should be wheeled impartially, without favoritism, and this current administration has been whofully lacking in the effectiveness to carry out that very same impartial justice.
The law covers all and punish all, and that’s the way justice has to be carried out..
So the justice in this land is the main problem here, and who it is that’s responsible for carrying out that justice?
You cannot have kids killing and committing these crimes only to get a slap on the wrist. You can’t have police officers killing innocent citizens and get cover because they have a badge. You cannot have millions in vehicles stolen and no one is brought before the court to face their wrongs. You cannot illegally accepts over a 1000 Africans under false pretenses and just let them loose in your country.
You cannot continue to turn a blind eye to the amount of guns coming into the island.
So stop your foolishness..
If nothing can be done, why do we need leaders then?
This government has failed the people in the impartial execution of justice, plain and simple.
While Antigua and Barbuda has historically maintained lower murder rates than some of its Caribbean neighbours, there has been a notable and concerning surge in gun-related violence over recent years. I believe that the majority of these weapons can be traced back to maritime trafficking particularly from the US. It is quite obvious that the gun amnesty has done very little to arrest this situation. We have to expedite the installation of cameras on the public roads and highways or this situation will continue to spiral further out of hand. Residents are living in fear daily.
police should be patrolling the streets at nights ticketing people for speeding too
@ Boogie
Your mind is really boogie. Nobody is suggesting patrolling alone can stop crime you have to combine that with other strategies. Tell us when last you hear the joker Cutie articulate any sensible strategy, even then crime will not be stamped out completely but there will be improvements. You never know who will be the next victim, it could be me or you
Yes we are aware that the police can be patrolling 24/7 and people still get shot, just as the same, an officer can be standing right next to you, and you could still be targeted, all true. The suggestion of 24/7 police patrolled, and more officers on our streets, while seen as a deterrent, also gives them a greater chance on apprehending that shooter or robber in possible a much swifter time frame, hence avoiding the famous statement of help needed after each and every crime.
Talibans in Antigua
Since that Syrian got killed across from Robinson gas station during that robbery guns have gotten easier to get. Especially for yn’s.
