The head of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, Commissioner Atlee Rodney, expressed satisfaction with the overall safety of the 2024 Carnival, despite a few isolated incidents.
Rodney praised the strategic measures and heightened police presence at nearly every event, ensuring a secure environment for participants and spectators.

Rodney acknowledged some unfortunate incidents during the Carnival, including a stabbing during the final moments of J’ouvert and a fatality after Last Lap.
Both cases are under active investigation, with Rodney urging anyone with information to come forward. He also expressed concern about ongoing public carelessness with alcohol and other substances.
