Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney has accepted a Deputy Director role with the Regional Security System (RSS) in Barbados, making him the first Antiguan and Barbudan in such a high-ranking position. Attorney General Cutie Benjamin, who encouraged Rodney to take the role, highlighted its significance for both Rodney and the nation. Prime Minister Gaston Browne also supported the move. As Rodney prepares for pre-retirement leave, plans are underway to appoint his successor.

I heard the news from ‘school children’ on Friday, and was wondering if he jumped or was pushed.
But apparently he is moving on to greater things. Lots of our Police and Sodiers have been trained by, and have done work for, the RSS.
It can only get better for us, having this adopted son of the soil there as deputy director.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. The worse commissioner in our history. He took the crown from Vere Browne who UPP hired and fired. But more importantly with useless Cutie in charge there is no succession plan in the Police Force. In the past, officers with potential were sent to the UK and FBI for training to manage a police force. None pf that has happened for years. Potter and Buckley had been sent to Australia for senior officers training back in the early 80s.
