
Princess Margaret School (PMS) has inducted several outstanding athletes and coaches into its Hall of Fame as part of its 70th anniversary celebrations. The announcement was made Monday ahead of the school’s Sports Day today.
Honorees include Dr. Richard Englehorn, a 1970s coach who developed national athletes, and Olympian Joycelyn Joseph McBride, who reached the 200m semifinals at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
Hayden Joseph, the first Antiguan to run 400m in under 50 seconds, and Miguel Francis, holder of the national 200m record (19.67s), are also recognized.
Other inductees include multi-sport athlete Dave ‘Pinico’ Gilead, West Indies youth cricketer Mark Bowers, distance runner Kalique St John, netball and basketball standout Robertine Bridgette Williams, coach Mervyn Richards, and basketball and track star Kareem Mackie Edwards.
