Prime Minister Gaston Browne says he has never accused D. Gisele Isaac, the former Executive Secretary of the Board of Education, of illegality.
“By the way its not a legal issue, I never said that she did something wring llegally. What I said is that her appointment violates government policy.”
Browne published documents on his personal Facebook page indicating that Isaac was receiving payment as Research Officer for Opposition Leader Jamal Pringle.
He said the publication of the letter about Isaac’s income is not a personal attack but merely as evidence.
Isaac is threatening legal action as her personal information was published in the media.
Browne told his radio programme over the weekend that has he is unfazed by her threats of legal action against him.
The prime minister says it is the policy of the government that an individual cannot receive
two monthly cheques from the Treasury.

CErmle, can you elaborate? You one sentence post does not provide any insight into what part of the explanation has a ring of truth as you suggest. Are you ok with the PM posting private information on his FB page?
The Prime Minister says:It is the Policy of the Government.That one individual cannot receive two monthly checks from the Treasury.Prime Minister,Gaston Browne,are you and Members of your Cabinet in compliance with that Policy of which you speak.Please tell me and only me,not TEN-MAN,HIS HORN BLOWERS AND HIS BAND SINGERS.As the Captain,chief cook and main bottle washer.You would need to re examine that so called Policy in my opinion.
So Browne, the almighty one, thinks it is right to put evidence of Giselle’s “wrong-doing” into the public domain? Is that the correct forum to handle a perceived “breach of government policy”? What utter nonsense. And then you “invite” people to work to build the country during these challenging times but he cannot even me big enough to bring people together. Please stop trying to emulate Donald Trump. He is not a good role model!
The more I hear the utterances of the Prime Minister, I hope and pray that one of his trusted advisers (if he has any) can convince him to keep his mouth shut more often. I say that because invariably 9 out of 10 times what comes out of the Prime Minister’s mouth is pure nonsense. And sadly, he always tries to walk back from his statement, or tries to justify it as he is trying to do in this case. A case of defamation is not grounded in whether what a person says was illegal or not. It is grounded in whether a statement made against a person was made with the intention to injure or ham the the person’s reputation. Also, when that statement is made with malice, it makes it even worst for the person who is alleged to have made the defamatory statement. So Mr. Prime Minister forget about whether you accused D. Gisele Isaac of any illegality or not. Illegality is not the issue.
Boo hoo hoo cry babies. The truth often hurts. We all know of the obsessive love for and of money by the “lady” in order to maintain her lifestyle (ahem, ahem). Don’t cry for me Argentina, the truth is I just love, need and miss the money. The PM is spot on. The “lady” is a greedy woman who deserves no sympathy from people whose monthly earnings are way less than half of what she earns or rather what she is given every month from the Treasury. The “lady” doth protest too much!

RUPERT MANN you know your Prime Minister well and that he would due any one if they looked at him too hard. Please give examples of utterances by Damani and Knight that would constitute defamation of the Prime Minister. I maintain that the Prime Minister needs to shut his mouth more. He speaks as if he is an authority on everything. I simply commented that his view that he did not say that Isaac did anything illegal and therefore could not be sued by her for defamation was incorrect. The comments that I put in this chat are meant to educate people like you, CH Tenman, CErmle, From the Sideline, Anon and …………. etc. I am also trying to encourage genuine debate from all sides and not simply name calling and an attack on the messenger instead of the message. Is simply pointing out the Prime Minister’s lack of legal knowledge a personal attack on him. I try to learn from comments in this chat and all of you should try to do the same.

You say he needs to shut his mouth more.I disagree with your sentiments.In my opinion the more he opens his mouth.The more dung comes out of it along with persons personal information.Like a recording I heard of Gaston Browne.He said that a taxi driver had $2 million in accounts with a Bank in Antigua.Things like that scares me.Because I have accounts in Antigua.It tells me he has plants inside the Banks and they give info to him as needed.He would then go on his radio station and put your personal information into the public.
