Prime Minister Gaston Browne says the nightly curfew under the ongoing state of emergency is still in place.
There were rumors this week that the curfew had been extended to 10 pm.
He told Pointe FM moments ago that the matter of the curfew will however come up for review at the next meeting of Cabinet.
The prime minister says there are some businesses which must open as late as midnight in order to be viable.
“And I believe some consideration will have to be given to that to see how we can facilitate the increase in the opening hours or a reduction in the curfew hours.
Antigua & Barbuda has been under a curfew since April. Currently it is from 9pm-5am.

Midnight is reasonable. Just ensure police do heavy patrols from sunset to deter criminals
Using that logic, I guess this curfew will be in place forever. Police should be on patrol 24/7, not just 9pm-5am.

The Country was fully opened on June 1,2020.So why have a Curfew in place with Airlines coming into Antigua very late at nights.American Airlines coming in at say 11:00 pm.By the time you would have gone through the Airport protocols and cleared Customs.It is way passed midnight.Taxi drivers are on the road.Are there two sets of Curfews? Would the Police and Soldiers arrests persons out after the so called Curfew hours.When would you be lifting the State of Emergency in place at this time.It cannot go on into perpetuity.Unless you have ulterior motive.Back in 1968,there was a State of Emergency.VC Bird was at the helm.It lasted only a matter of days.Now this State of Energency has been in place since March/April to today June 07,2020.My guess,those of us who lived in Antigua back then,did see things differently to those there now.Because back in 1968.The”BULL DUNG” that is going there now would not be allowed to happen.

Extending extending extending when we were up to 6 p.m. curfew, some persons were inconvenienced and had to live with it so what’s the big deal?

Health and safety are now put on the back burner or thrown out the window. It is all about wealth and put more in my pockets.
