ANDERSON CARTY: UPP Leader’s ‘Undemocratic’ Candidate Selection Process

Good evening my fellow Countrymen an Countrywomen.

Today, I heard two (3) of the most troubling statements by the Political Leader of the UPP on Observer/News Co Ltd, “Connecting with Dave Lester Payne. Based on my understanding of what I truly believe I heard, is that (1) It is his decision that determination as to whom will be the UPP candidates for the next General Election – to contest the seats in the various constituencies on that Party’s ticket – will not be subject to any primary (even if more than one prospective candidates are interested in any of the constituencies) will not be decided by any primary; (2) that he intends to exercise his veto power as Political Leader (without first having the benefit of any primary result) and (3); that “he” has already decided on the selection of 10 new candidates to contest on the UPP ticket. If I have correctly understood and interpreted these statements by the Political Leader of that party correctly and as intended to covey, then I would respectfully suggest that someone has gone completely mad or that such an individual is no longer fit to be considered as the leader of any political party, anywhere.

This would mean that His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition, in the main, has lost its way and it is time for every right thinking citizen and resident, with the power to vote, to reject those unconstitutional and dictatorial pronuncement and call for the creation of a new opposition party in order to have a reasonably fair chance to displace an inept Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party Administration. 1. Well played your Most Honourable Jamale Pringle, you have – at last – made a brilliant move to discombobulate Prime Minister Browne. Bravo!

This type of political move reminds me of the similar tactics used byvthe Most Honourable Richard Lewis and Kelvin Shugy Simon to get underneath Gaston skin.

    Kudos to you Jamale 🤜🏽🤛🏽

KEEP RUFFLING HE MOUSTACHE 🥸 SIR!

  2. Was the candidate selection in all saints west democratic? Candidates were vying for their primary then poof Anthony Smith got it while staying across the lane and Lamin who was in his feelings get thrown to all saints east a loosing seat for labour then let’s talk about ABLP selecting a leader why is Gaston afraid of the convention is he afraid Chet will challenge him for leadership how many years now ABLP haven’t had a convention no I ain’t talking about meetings actual convention with all members including Asot?

    • When was the primary for Rural East? Vere Edwards was wooed to the upp by Pringle and then they just picked Sean Bird who end up getting he ass whopped by a woman!

  3. That post on my page is from Mr Anderson Carty. I have no interest commenting on the unprecedented meltdown of the UPP.

  4. Anything to defeat the ablp but as a strong upp supporter don’t think it’s right way think it going cuz more division cuz if 3 of us one to run for rural west how u can jus come pick one don’t u think d others will be upset dat it wasn’t d people from rural west dat chose their candidate no matter how professional u tell dem to be they are human an hv feelings so they will speak out

  5. RICHARD LEWIS WILL NOT BE THE CANDIDATE FOR RURAL WEST ANYMORE!!!!

    2. The Chairman made it clear that she wants Richard Lewis out of the party.
    3. She revealed that a recent poll showed Richard Lewis trailing Michael Joseph in the St. John’s Rural West constituency.
    4. The Chairman expressed her lack of trust in Richard Lewis, stating that he can no longer win his seat and should step aside.

  6. Now this is the most dumbest move to implant candidates without the acceptance of the democratic process when we continously call out the ABLP for transparency now we practice the same hypocrisy the scale is off balance as it is ABLP has gone extreme and the Upp is limping and could never reach the finish line supporters are frustrated and giving uo Chet said they would implode before the year is finished and he is right about it this action will be the final blow and cut off the feet of the upper any bets ?

  7. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  8. Give it up for these 2 SMILING CLOWNS!! They have succeeded in burying the mortal remains of the UPP! Look at them smiling at their accomplishment! wow!

  9. There is a place in ANtigua known as Cooks Dump. There is where Anderson Carty belongs. You should be ashamed of yourself. For you could not pay your rent and all of your belongings were thrown to the curb. You have no scruples. Therefore, you have no damn shame.

  10. Gaston while you are commenting, tell Antigua people when the ALP will be holding their long overdue convention. What is the status of the constitutional reform you promised some years ago?
When will the water problem finally be solved after nearly after 3 terms in office?

So Brix who is now the dictator to hand pick candidates as he sees fit. You always called Gaston Browne a dictator whenever that happens in the ABLP, but here you are praising Jamal for highhandedly choosing runners.
Very hypocritical from you. But then again you do not stand for anything. You only stand against one thing and that is Gaston Browne in power. Well you will have to eat your heart out for another 10 to 20 years. Hope you live to see him leave office. And that would be voluntary.
