  1. Fear because of heavy fines that the bank will be responsible for.. even to lose their license.

Some customers need to be patient and listen to instructions.

Ms. Chaia said it right. Supporting documentation for external regulators.

  2. The banks are ALL putting one or two tellers out because they are trying to force the customers to do everything online or ATM. And the ATM always have problems.
Compliance only applies to banks in small countries. I have bank accounts in the US and UK that I just walked in and opened. No third degree interrogation like in Antigua.

  3. Otto, well said, the forced disconnect the banks are imposing on their customers is disgraceful. Online banking and atm’s do not solve every issue a customer may have, the human factor is still essential

  4. Yes OTTO… Full 100!!!! The wait in the line is longer than the actual transaction to open a bank account in the US…Shameful in Antigua.

I remember that I went with my mom to put my name on her account….took about 2 hours…JUST TO PUT MY NAM ON A FUCKING ACCOUNT!!! NONSENSE!!!!!
