Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced plans to launch a nationwide beautification programme and explore the creation of an eco-reserve housing development.

Speaking on the Browne and Browne Show, Mr Browne said the government intends to plant at least one million trees every year, supported by new plant nurseries managed through the National Housing agencyBrowne and Browne Show.

He also revealed that officials are examining the possibility of developing a 200-acre nature reserve in the south of Antigua. The project would feature small, sustainable wooden homes powered by solar energy, each paired with a farm plot to encourage residents to live “more attuned with nature”.

Mr Browne said the initiative reflects his government’s commitment to environmental sustainability and lifestyle diversity, offering people the chance to live in eco-friendly communities without relying on large concrete housing.
