Signing of MoA with Nigerian Group Marvelous Mike Press Ltd

Prime Minister Gaston Browne is defending his administration’s decision to support the formation of Antigua Airways.

The new airline will provide regular, direct flights between the African continent and Antigua and Barbuda which is a main gateway to the Caribbean.

The agreement formalising the creation of Antigua Airways was signed last month and the new airline is aiming to begin operations in October this year.

  1. Gaston Browne,I am not a member of any Political Party inna Antigua and Barbuda. We the people are sketical. The reason being we have heard that same dung before.Remember that man Allen Onyema from Nigeria. He is the owner of Air Peace Airlines in Nigeria. He was suppose to pump monies into LIAT.He was suppose to generate flights from Nigeria to Antigua. What has become of that man and his grand projects? I do believe that you have heard the expression, once bitten twice shy.The people have been lied to by you,too many times now.So they do not believe one darn thing you are telling them. You have lied too many times for the past 8 years. If lie were to see you coming. It would jump into the Atlantic Ocean and swim to Nigeria, on Africa’s West Coast to avoid you.Even lie is afraid to see you, hear you and or listen to you. That is a damn shame.TAP DAWG,STACHE-MAN.

  2. Chups!
    Gaston move your RH!

What happen to Barbuda Airways? What happened to “saving LIAT?”

By the way, we hope that any new charter airline coming here isn’t bringing illegal gold from the Congo to the west via Nigeria and Runway 10.

We hope they don’t transport campaign funds or fake ballots.

    On another note…

The people need relief from the rising cost of living. We need a higher minimum wage and government wages. We need JOBS Gaston. JOBS!

Not everyone can get $20,000 US per month in rent from the investor of the failed WISEZ project… or collect $540,000 in rent at SouthMall.

Stop chatting bullsheet and get to work solving the real issues people care about!

  3. After the fictional stories about Barbuda Airways and the 2 cargo ships. After over 20 failed hotel projects, Gaston tells us that a printing company is going to start an airline in 3 months and he expects to believe him.
YIDA, Western Imperial? Where is your track record?
No man, we have entertained this crazy man for too long. It’s time to have Gaston Browne committed. It’s time for Gaston to go.

  4. QUESTION TO GASTON: Has the International Air Transport Association approved the routes
REASON FOR THE QUESTION: Your track record is lousy, Gaston!

You promised the OASIS ships. the ship could not come on schedule because there was a stone in the sea.

You promised many times that Jolly Beach had a buyer! Well we are still waiting!

You said the Euro Bond was oversubscribed ! Another lie!

Gaston, you are an idiot. Gaston you are a fool. Gaston you are a dreamer!

    Time for you to go!

  5. Y’all better put your thinking caps on. LBB(Giant Malt) had this same idea. To connect Antigua and Barbuda to the USA. Same name. Antigua Airways. A wha happen to dat?

  6. I welcome any Air Line flying to the Caribbean from Africa. As a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters how ever watching your body language signing off on the agreement you were not convincing it was not hidden you could see it. Why are we still giving away our passport to these investors and Nigerian at that are you aware of these groups like Boccaharam becarefull that our passport don’t reach into their hands. By the way if this airline is to make that kind of connection to the island I thought we would have seen at this time some promotion among the tour operators if the intention is for October you don’t think . We could make a promo all around the Caribbean even in the diaspora I am waiting.

  7. Haven’t really followed the details of this proposed airline. My first thought is concern. I hope that Antigua does not become inundated with scam artists from Nigeria. Would be interested in knowing what checks and balances are planned to prevent that. My second thought is that many of our people probably have some Nigerian ancestry in the family tree. Perhaps we can collaborate with Nigerians on mutually beneficial authentic businesses e.g. perhaps Antiguans can invest in tourism businesses etc. in Nigeria. Would be interested in understanding exactly what benefit we would actually get from such an airline.

  8. #Transparency Matters!
    #Accountability Matters!

The ABLP is still running the Nation like it’s their private business(es).

  9. This sounds like Gaston once again trying to put 10 pound a shit in a 1 pound bag! Antiguans and Barbudans just stand back and wait for the explosion!

  10. I may have missed it, but how much is out there about the company that is to run this airline? What type of planes will they be using? How many planes they’ll be using? It’s not just about planes, but what about the support crew to run an competent, safe and effective airline? Why are we concentrating on connectivity with the western coast of Africa, when we’ve lost the connectivity right here in our region will LIAT only flying 2 planes at the moment?

We need to fix our yards first, before we branch out. Lets put the effort into LIAT or some other regional airlines that can get us across the region.

I have way too many doubts and concerns about this proposed airline.

  11. Take a second to enlarge and look at the picture in this article……. If this is such a great deal….why do our ministers look like they just signed their own death warrant…..

So much of a difference in the Nigerian guy’s face…… He’s like…. These people really this effing stupid?

  12. Look at those 4 sitting at that table. If this was such a great and done deal.I think we should be seeing smiling faces. The four are looking miserable.Gaston looks as if he is ready to pass gas.Is Max Wurst sleeping?
