PM Browne says “the polluters must pay”

6

Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda and Chair of the Alliance of Small Island States speaks on the sidelines of the COP26 climate change conference.

“We want to see increased ambitions, not just talk and we are somewhat disappointed that there will be an overshoot of that 1.5 degrees. I mean for us it’s a matter of survival and the fact that we’re unlikely to achieve that 1.5 goal – that in itself is of significant concern of all small island states and globally.”

  1. What a joke. Will he be spouting that to China and India directly who are two of the biggest polluters on the planet? Just give me a break!

  2. and who granted the authority to anyone to say that global temperatures will rise? Last time I checked, almighty God and the sun controlled that.

  3. Oh well: I guess pm Browne has already spoken to his Chinese investors about them paying for their enormous involvement in the cause of the global climatic disasters.

One should not just open his/her mouth to speak just because they are able to. The prime minister appears to talk just because he can do so. Much of what comes out of his mouth make no sense most of the times. He uses every opportunity that arises to BEG for money.

After 40 years of independence: Antigua & Barbuda is still on the begging spree.

What do we have to show for the 40 years of supposedly “INDEPENDENCE” ?

    SHAME SHAME SHAME

A CORRUPT NATION WITH CORRUPT LEADERS AND PEOPLE.

  4. It looks like he is now a spokesperson for the world. He is going around taking his duties as some alliance chairman more seriously than his job as PM. He is trying to sound wise and all the time the people know what he is doing to the environment in his own country. We are hearing all kinds of things about who polluting and what the Pacific states doing to prevent pollution and not one damn thing about how the pensioners going to get their money for September and October.
I suppose he is trying to give Mia Mottly competition. Want his hug up from Biden too.

  5. Teefin Gaston Browne always a beg money. He must not teef enough from us and want more.

In the meantime, people can’t set up a solar system here. Why? Hadeed them want their money on the fossil generators they brought here.

  6. The poor haters. They cannot stand a bone in the man’s body. But as the seeing goes, “Who God Bless No man Curse”. You all can eat your heart out. The man is so excellent that others chose him to represent them.
