Prime Minister Gaston Browne, also finance minister, projects Antigua and Barbuda’s Debt-to-GDP ratio to fall below 60 percent by year-end, targeting 58 percent.
He highlighted the government’s prudent economic management, reducing the ratio from 104 percent under the UPP administration and about 100 percent during the pandemic to the current level.
Browne noted the country is repaying more loans than it is borrowing, contrasting this with UPP’s reliance on debt-fueled growth.
He also plans to consolidate smaller, high-interest loans by early next year to ease cash flow issues.

… And you watch again folks, come year end NUTTING NAH GO SO!
Where’s Tenman, he loves Gaston Browne’s predictions and projections that NEVER match with the eventual factuality.
TENMAN WHEY YOU DEY???
Now you believe my idea that a lot of those money should have been borrowed locally and from locals, paying those locals the same high interest they are paying overseas entities.
Imagine how much more lucrative the economy would have been and the financial status of locals would be great, had they sell local bonds, etcetera.
I also still believe that locals abroad should be allowed to vote (if they are not allowed to vote) based on some minimum standard, like having a home valuing $250,000 or more or having $500,000 in cash in a local bank or owning a business that employs a certain amount of employees (you get the idea).
Allowing a vote in comparison to the great benefit you get for the people is a small sacrifice for the benefit. Any person or political party who is for the people and not mainly focused on staying in power would truly consider and implement this. Even if it means your party will be voted out but the people will benefit more.
Also, to show you are a good leader, based on half the country believed your government (ABLP and UPP) has stolen money, misappropriated money, abuse their office/power, committed nepotism, make their children and siblings rich through their office, to show the people this is not true, they current government to request a US team to investigate these allegations against both political party (ABLP and UPP) to prove that no such actions occurred.
This is necessary because half the country thinks the party they do not support has committed horrific theft, corruption, etcetera. A great leader would immediately order an investigation starting from 2003 until today, 2024.
I call upon the Governor General, Attorney General, and Prime Minister General to begin this investigation.
Any corruption found, all assets and fruits of that assets must be seized and return to the people, and prison time. This is what a great political party should run on.

Brix when are you going to support your statements and accusations with facts. I mean it would be so simple for you to name even one specific forecast that the PM made that the facts says it was otherwise. And facts are public reports from agencies such as ECCB, WorldBank, ECLAC, CDB and IMF. Not your own make up alternative facts.
Just do that for once.
Because to date the PM has always been right when he said he will grow the economy by X%. And Antigua and Barbuda has so far been the fastest growing economy in the Caribbean and Latin America except for Guyana. Were it not for their new found wealth in OIL. Antigua has none of that. Just Services.
