PM Browne Open to Partnering on Nightclub in Barbuda to Boost Social Life

Prime Minister Gaston Browne says he is willing to partner with a Barbudan investor to open a nightclub on the sister island, describing it as a way to improve social options and encourage local enterprise.

“If there’s a Barbuda who wants to partner with me to put a nightclub in Barbuda, I will do it,” Browne said on the Browne and Browne Show.

He first floated the idea himself, joking that he might personally launch a venue. “I’m wondering if I shouldn’t go and open up a nice, beautiful nightclub, the Cassidgette Club in Barbuda,” he said.

Browne said more leisure and entertainment businesses are needed to complement the island’s recent development projects, which include the new airport and road upgrades. “The social life is almost non-existent,” he said. “They need a little cinema, even if it’s a little rudimentary one.”

He also invited private investors to take part in the island’s next phase of growth. “If we can get a few people to invest in a few social projects — when I say social, entertainment and leisure projects,” Browne said.

The comments came as Browne discussed wider opportunities for Barbudans to engage in business ventures tied to tourism and community life. The prime minister said new recreational spaces could support local employment and give residents more to do as Barbuda’s economy expands.

  1. That’s a facade Gaston has to cover your frequent visit to the island when visiting your business place at PLH.
In the vicissitudes of time you will not be in office to dumb down the ondcp or police or judiciary.

  2. All this man care about is money money money, meanwhile the very cultural fabric of Antigua is ripping away at the seams.

The barbudains don’t want their little peaceful island turn into the drunken mess that Antigua is in now Gatson. Just give it a rest.. what you should be encouraging is a more holistic life style than clubbing and partying, that comes with massive drug use. Don’t you have enough of the madness that has taken over Antigua, with all the weed and drugs that have plague the youths?

Money is great, but dirty money comes with a heavy price.

This man really needs to go off in the sunset and retire…he is nothing but a waste of effort. The people put you in power to better the nation Gatson.. Bwoi Antigua just salt salt.

  3. My word, the wicked one wants to spread is wings further, just never satisfied. Unprecedented greed, how much will be enough

  4. The Prime Minister has proven time snd time again hiw much of a degenerate he is.
“A night club to boost social life” How twisted can he be?
I won’t wait to hear what the Ecumenicals have to say, for in some ways they are not different.
The attorneys are equally enthusiastic about the idea for the resultant legal fees that will result from the drug bust if the police don’t look the other way.
This is nothing more than further corrupting The Barbuda young people.
When he says “ more leisure and entertainment businesses are needed to complement the island’s recent development projects”. One can only assume he has in mind patrons as the people working for PHH and Nobu.
How can a person who goes to the UN and pontificate on climate crisis issues, fails do miserably on issues in his own backyard.
The internet provide most of the entertainment Barbudans want. Facebook tick tok etc cost nothing.
How about enabling Barbudans to socialize around issues for social and community development?
Barbuda already has three clubs of the type Gaston is proposing. Given their existence is he proposing to create an alternative thst will put them out of business?

  5. A cultural center will serve the majority of the people thousands of times more than a human meat market, whorehouse, sophisticated rum shop and dope dealing gates.
Gaston as you speak about mental health do you realize what such businesses do to a community negatively?
Probably you can solicit P. Diddy as a partner since it looks like he’s familiar with Barbuda. Epstein is dead but it seems like there are many of his protégés are willing to keep promoting his Pedo Island business model.
ANR why is it, that I keep getting other bloggers personal information like their moniker and email address? This means that I can blog as that individual.
    I just got islandman26 information.
