PM Browne Confident ABLP Would Sweep Elections if Held Tomorrow

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has declared that the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) is in a strong position and could win all constituencies if elections were called immediately.

Speaking candidly, Browne credited the party’s current momentum to its ongoing reforms, unity, and ability to maintain public trust despite challenges following the last general election.

“We’re in a great space right now,” Browne stated, expressing gratitude to the people of Antigua and Barbuda for their continued confidence in the ABLP.

He contrasted the party’s present strength with its vulnerability after the last election, where a slim one-seat majority and the advanced age of some members posed significant risks to the government’s stability.

Reflecting on that period, Browne revealed that the party operated under a precarious “four-month horizon,” as two members were in their seventies and another was approaching eighty.

Despite this, the government focused on managing the situation effectively and implemented a robust succession plan to strengthen the party’s position.

“At one point, we were perhaps one of the most vulnerable governments in the world,” he admitted, adding that resilience and unity were key to overcoming the obstacles.

Browne also criticized the opposition for anticipating the demise of ABLP members, describing their rhetoric as “vulgar” and highlighting how the ABLP’s resolve ultimately led to the decimation of its political rivals.

“Not even Bob the Builder can fix them; they’re like Humpty Dumpty—all broken,” Browne quipped, while cautioning his party against complacency.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the ABLP’s strength lies in its unity and commitment to reform, which have allowed it to earn and sustain the trust of the people. He urged party members to remain focused on serving the nation and continuing the work of empowering its citizens.

  1. Let us see how strong they are when they (PM and ABLP) continue to tell Antiguans and Barbudans that they (PM and ABLP)can’t help you (us, me) to achieve nationally important endeavors or that they cannot do anything to encourage substantial increase in farming produce locally because it is private individual’s responsibility to do so and not the government.

This reminds me of the crime problem we have, that they were and still is being constantly dismissed by ABLP saying there is none.

I cannot support any political party who tells any Antiguan and Barbuda working on a business that would easily bring at minimum of 5 to 50 jobs, guaranteed foreign money, is an expansion of an already existing business operating for over a decade in the US, profitable, and would have gotten a $20 million grant (because the area/field of service is underserve and vitally important internationally), and dude (me) already showed his skills in business and maximizing of profits (financial success), intended to pay the same rate or close to it as in the US which means Antiguans and Barbudans could have been paid as much as about $2000ec WEEKLY.

SO, I am asking Bolans Village, St. Mary’s Parish, Antigua and Barbuda, please elect people that will help you and me achieve, especially when those things we want to achieve will help the nation in substantial ways.

I am ready to support any government that will help Antigua and Barbuda and myself. I will donate to campaigns that I am confident would ensure Bolans Village, St. Mary’s Parish, Antigua and Barbuda’s success. I am ready to support this political party who can solve the problem I currently have in Bolans Village, St. Mary’s Parish, Antigua and Barbuda. Please never ever say I cannot help you but instead help, do the best you can do, that is reasonable.

I promise before God that I will never help a family member who supports a government that cannot help me help my entire family and entire community.

I will do everything I can financially in Bolans Village to ensure a helping MP and party is supported from locals there, even though Bolans is only one party on the constituency.

Say no to unhelpful governments, no matter what political party it is.

  2. As a UPP supporter if an election is called in the six months to be honest I believe ALP would win but they would not get my vote, my party is just cannibalizing each other they do not seem to understand the U in UPP stands for united, set of jack and Jenny asses

  3. Where are you on this one Brixtonian? You are going to let this one pass without your usual comedy comments?😅😅😅

  4. @ My Way of Helping

You have been writing members of the Cabinet as nauseam to approve a fire arm license to
Facilitate the establishment of your business.

We have advised that the granting of a fire arm license is the sole remit of the fire arms committee headed by the Commissioner.

Also, our country has an open economy. Anyone wishes to establish a business has the right of establishment.

I have serious difficulties determining how you got to the conclusion that my administration has deprived you of the opportunity to establish your business.

Please provide further and better particulars in this forum, so that I could intelligently assimilate your claim.

    Blessings,

  5. The PM hab all dis big talk on radio. Call the elections now! We ready to sweep out “we the whites” and the entire bird brigade.

    My response to Gaston Browne

At no time did me, my way of helping, requested any person in cabinet to approve my firearms license. I requested members of the government to acknowledge and convey that my crime victim advocacy and research endeavor is of national importance in which would encourage the commissioner of police and firearms commission to make decisions on the merit of my application and in a reasonable time because of the national and international importance of my endeavor.

I would not need to ask the government MP and Government cabinet for what I was already approved for from the COP, a got the approved firearms permit, but it does not take effect until I get some mandatory firearms training from the police, which I waited in Antigua until the permit expired without me even getting to use it. So, technically. It was never effective because the training from the police is required first, it is a condition precedent to the permit being valid.

So, knowing how important my endeavor is, I went to various ABLP politicians to simply decide that helping and understanding victims of vicious crimes (whether US resident visiting Antigua and Barbuda or the Caribbean) or Antiguans and Barbudans visiting the US who becomes victims of vicious and qualifying crimes, that no matter where they are in the world, I could help them get the $50,000 USD or $120,000USD they can qualify for from crime victims funds from US states. I also needed the prove to the US that I am well-positioned to advance my proposed endeavor/idea. So, meeting all conditions for all tools was urgently required for me to submit here in the US. So, it was not just for a firearm but for me to get my US applications approved.

Every single person from ABLP ignored what I was asking for, you call tell they did not care based on them coming here to say I am asking them individually for a firearm license, when it was strategically for them to say my idea/endeavor is so vitally important that all reasonable accommodations and request should be made. That is how you know no care exist that they do not even know what it is you are asking for because they did not care to listen.

Oh, the mandatory firearms class they wanted me to get from the police, I paid, and did not get it up to this day but paid my $500ec and waited in Antigua the entire time until the permit expired and then I left.

My endeavor from my research and independent research shows that tourist would visit even more often at any country in which they feel safer and know that resources are available for them if they are victimized (no matter how unlikely this is). So, my crime and terrorism victim advocacy endeavor would certainly enhance the country’s tourism product, which also makes it of national and international importance.

All I wanted for the government of ABLP to do is to encourage the COP and firearms commission to act in a reasonable and prudent manner. Because I already know I over qualify (words used by the COP) and others. So I did not need anyone to approve anything for me that I do not qualify, I simply needed actions to be taken in a reasonable time for me to open my office, hire 5 to 50 people, pay between $500 to $2000 weekly, bill the billion crime and terrorism victim funds and if I feel like it, apply for US Justice Department crime victim advocacy and services grants. They were and still is giving millions in grants in this area because no one is doing it, no adequate amounts or services.

So, it is time we think bigger and listen to people before we assume what they are asking. I would never be in fear of qualifying for something I got approved for in over 23 states, all of the applications submitted approved. It was bigger than that. I think big. It is why I am different.

  7. @Gaston Browne,

It would be really sad that a leader of a government of a country would say that citizens cry for help is “ad nauseam”. A leader is saying it is sickening and annoying for citizens tell the government of their difficulties, pain, suffering and need for help.

Let me assume this is not THE Gaston Brown responding because no good leader would say

    1) I cannot help you
    2) your request as a citizen to better the country is annoying (ad nauseum)
    3) The same exact thing telling locals at the town hall in Bolans Village to not say how the water problems is affecting them uniquely (the law of public and private nuisance). Stopping them from talking about the water crisis from their unique basis.

This response here cannot be from the leader of the government of Antigua and Barbuda because this would not be a good leader respond.

So please bloggers, stop using this name unless you are authorized by that person or it is that person, Gaston Browne.

  8. That’s right ABLP will win if elections is called in six months, even though government workers cannot get there backpay or overtime. Because they rather to see overseas artist come and take all the money back home Ah so we love it.

  9. St. Kitts/Nevis government is going to do what they’ve done for three years consecutively and this addle-brained boy has great difficulty paying people what is owed to them but is focusing on retaining power at all costs.
