PM Browne Addresses Richard Lewis’s Political Ambitions on Pointe FM
During his broadcast on Pointe FM yesterday, Prime Minister Gaston Browne made it clear that while he is open to supporting Lewis in other ambitions, running for the Labour Party in Rural West is not an option.
“Discussions have been held with Richard,” Browne stated.
“If Richard wants to pursue certain ambitions, I would have sent him a message to confirm that we will accommodate him. But those ambitions do not include running for the Labour Party in Rural West. Let me make that abundantly clear.”
The Prime Minister emphasized his confidence in the current candidate for the constituency, asserting that the decision is final.
“We have a young, viable candidate in Michael Joseph,” Browne said. “I have no doubt that he will win that seat. From that standpoint, the candidature for that constituency is a settled matter.”
Browne’s comments highlight a strategic move to solidify support behind Joseph while acknowledging Lewis’s potential contributions in other capacities.

Dirty politics at its best. Whether all this is true or not, the ABLP is hell bent on destroying the UPP and perhaps govern in a one party state. Their confident level has been high so far as they were able to get 2 scalps alone this year. Much of this is really political posturing and assassination but the ABLP is obviously boyed with its recent success and looking for more big scalps. It is clear that the ABLP have engaged Minister’s and other influential persons to induce members of the Opposition with Ministerial positions, Ambassadorship and more in an effort to get them to flip. With their recent success rate so far, one would expect this to continue. There is a concerted effort to ensure that the UPP is demoralized and weaken as this would strengthen the ABLP hand and make winning the next election easy.

This whole country is falling down at the seams. The country is broke and cannot even pay its bills. They just huffed $40 million from the boat and it’s all spent with nothing left.
