Prime Minister Gaston Browne has condemned misinformation surrounding the death of nine-year-old Chantel Crump, calling it a threat to national trust and democracy.

Speaking on the Browne and Browne Show, Browne addressed a claim made on the JTruth Show, where a female caller suggested his daughter may have benefitted from organs taken from Chantel Crump . He accused the United Progressive Party (UPP) and its supporters of spreading such falsehoods through media channels, warning that misinformation could severely harm the country.

Browne stressed the need to restore trust in society, asserting that false claims could undermine democracy. “If a young lady believes the Prime Minister could authorize the killing of a child for organ harvesting, then we have a serious problem,” Browne said.

The police have also responded, urging individuals to cease spreading false information. They dismissed claims circulating on social media that Crump’s body had been mutilated, confirming that these allegations were unfounded.

Chantel Crump was found deceased in Weatherhills last week.

  1. A true leader concerned for his people would have already done something about the growing number of Antiguan citizens who have vanished without a trace. This has all happened on your watch and you did nothing, that is not misinformation. YOU are national security threat being Prime Minster!

  2. “If a young lady believes the Prime Minister could authorize the killing of a child for organ harvesting, then we have a serious problem,”

There is no lie there! You turn a blind eye and follow instructions like everyone else…
Slavery is real and your leaders are owned

  3. I would not want pm gaston calling out any one on Chantels death, because the day that the parents of Chantel have a different opinion Gaston will go on his radio station to curse them, he might even say funny things about their deceased child, don’t talk about if they are aligned with Richard Lewis, but for sure if they associate with Michael Joseph and he can salvage their griefs for political influence in the community Gaston will praise them, all of self and power entrenchment up to the time people are suffering, I would not want ALP or UPP around at this moment, just a family situation.

  4. When are we going to stop with all this conspiracy theories and just stick to facts?
These unfounded statements are egregious to the grieving family and others who are being smeared.
Responsible investigative journalism could put these false narratives to rest. It is unfathomable that one could think of organ harvesting in less than sterile conditions and without proper care and caution as to the pristine nature such would have to done under.
Can you people google how organs are harvested?

  5. we don’t trust you ..it’s not UPP THAT CREATED THIS, IT’s YOU AND ALL THE DAM thieving, you are insensitive and out of touch.. Stop blaming people and LOOK IN THE MIRROR.. you are quick to say people are not educated but let me tell you an uneducated person could be someone that still eats and ask for more even if he or she is Full.. get it? you are full …LET OTHERS EAT TOO..

  6. The PM is in no position to lecture on “Undermining democracy.” He is reminded that his “tight friend ” Olabanjo stated that “Antigua is under populated and they (Gaston’s migrants) were brought to Antigua to improve Antigua’s population.”

The reckless behaviour of the PM and his “tight friend ” violated numerous laws , they embarrassed Antigua locally, nationally and internationally.

Consequently, they compromised national security and potentially exposed the country and the entire Caribbean to fraudsters and more significantly to terrorists threats.

Members from European countries have imposed visa requirements because of his administration failures to adhered to due diligence when issuing Antiguans sovereign passports to nationals whose backgrounds are diametrically opposite to ours.

Trump’s administration has given his administration 60 days to improve the CIP or Antigua will be removed from Amber.
He has singlehandedly created an environment whereby Antiguans reputation is tarnished.

His administration has done nothing to promote or maintain our nationalism, culture and rights to freedom of speech.
It was his administration who behaved in similar manner to the Nazis gestapo, when orders were given to gassed nationals for engaging in peaceful demonstrations

We saw recently the same conduct where riot police armed with tear gas to used against our brothers and sisters whilst they were protesting against the evil campaign he has staged against the Barbudans.

The immigration and police services are broken because of his administration. Antigua is swamped with numerous illegal immigrants who are allowed to remain in the country unchecked.

Instead of blaming UPP for his disgraceful failures and lack of care for our nation he should put system in place to safe guard our homeland.

A man (Richard Whinfield)was brutally murdered in Swetes in February, family of the deceased provide the police with cctc footage showing the killer going to the venue and released numerous bullets. In the era of IT technology, Antigua’s police is not equipped to interrogate the image to ascertained the cold blood murder’s identy, instead the murderer is free to roam around as a free man.

Several months hence, the police services have not arrested anyone for the teenager and that of the teenager who was found dead in Fig Tree Drive.

It’s the same PM who told his cabinet that they must “enriched themselves.” Majority of the population are struggling because of his corrupt administration.

The PM should change his lens before attacking others. He should work on himself before lecturing others about “democracy.”

  7. @joan: don’t be fool there is private hospital to harvest organs, you not going to harvest my brain and make me stupid in your defense of who or what or even politics, you don’t think black people should even think, we are a herd of animals to you, if something happen up at jumby bay or mill reef and the white only area and it’s has conspiracy theories, our so call attorney general and prime minister would act upon it for the sake of white validation.

  8. Only when the fingers are pointed at him does The Prime Minuster realize that democracy is being undermined.

Democracy and democratic values are not being undermined when The Head of Country with no check and balance against his power uses his media to demonize the opposition.

Democracy is healthy when he boastfully admit to circumventing the electorial system and process; by transferring voters. Knowing fully well the Electorial Body he controls will not investigate.

Democracy is healthy when Barbudans are confronted with riot police armed with high powered rifles, when they protest the clearing of farm lands for a housing project which is not for Barbudans.

Democracy is healthy when the Prime Minister says proudly “The Saint Peters Constituency is a “Garrison” for the ABLP
and few people in the population understand the meaning and implications of such a statement.

Democracy is UNhealthy when the World Bank decry the abismally poor performance of primary and secondary schools leaving the population with a knowledge based on the internet.

Democracy is healthy when you Mr. PM is sued “Personally” to disclose the distribution of use of funds for your Government says the files were misplaced.

So whats new Prime Minister? It’s appears the state of our Democracy is only if concern when you are feeling the heat.
