PM Announces New Hires and $100M Boost for Nationwide Roadworks

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced plans to expand the Public Works Department’s workforce as part of a nationwide road rehabilitation drive.

Speaking on Pointe FM, Browne urged jobseekers to apply as the department prepares to hire additional staff and engineers to support ongoing infrastructure upgrades.

The initiative includes night repair crews already active on roads such as Herbert’s Road and Newgate Street, ahead of a major $100 million project funded by local bank loans.

The loan will be repaid through recently increased vehicle licensing fees.

  1. I drive through Bolans daily on my way to work, just take a drive out there and watch the nonsense that is supposed to quality road work. People in this country are real suckers

  2. Concerned drive through Bolans and see the amount a patch work sheet, you would a hold you head and bawl, me haffu shake me head daily

  3. Consider drainage, waterways and the right mixture of tar. We can’t keep building roads that only last a month
