CABINET NOTES: The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has deliberated on reports suggesting the country’s inclusion in a proposed U.S. sanctions list initiated under the administration of President Donald Trump.
The Cabinet reaffirmed that the United States of America remains one of Antigua and Barbuda’s closest allies and emphasized its commitment to preserving and strengthening the longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship between the two nations.
The Cabinet underscored its continued reliance on constructive and quiet diplomacy in addressing the concerns raised by the United States.
It further noted that the Prime Minister, the Honourable Minister for Foreign Affairs, and the nation’s Ambassador in Washington, D.C., are actively engaging with the U.S. State Department.
Several matters raised are currently being addressed, with some expected to be formally considered in the upcoming session of Parliament.
Reiterating its foreign policy principle, the Cabinet affirmed that Antigua and Barbuda is a friend to all and enemy to none, and will continue to refrain from involvement in any geo-political conflicts or wars.

Happy to hear of this more conciliatory approach to dealing with this subject matter. The initial release from Foreign Affairs which was carried by news media throughout the Caribbean and further afield was aggressive defiant contentious and combative and would only anger and aggravate the US.
It doesn’t matter what you do. America does what it wants. And no amount of diplomacy will change that. They have an objective and no one will sit on the fence. So sorry to say it Antigua and Barbuda, your policy of being friends of all and enemy of none will not work with the USA. Its either you are with them or against them. No middle road. They are hell bend of taking down countries like CUBA and now Venezuela that have had the courage to stand against them. And no friend or foe was able to get them to change course. Didn’t we won our case against them at the WTO? And what has that done for us. It’s better we didn’t do anyhting. Cause they don’t care whatsoever. When will people understand America is above ALL. Even their courts act that way. They can issue arrest warrents of anyone around the world. Whether Kings or Queens or Presidents or Prime Ministers.
