Plans to Purchase LIAT Brand Name in Progress by Antiguan Government

In a recent announcement, Prime Minister Gaston Browne shared significant developments regarding the revival of LIAT, the Caribbean airline.

LIAT 2020, the reincarnation of LIAT 1974 Limited, will take on the financial responsibility of the brand, aiming to start fresh without the burden of legacy issues stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

PM Browne dismissed speculations that liabilities would automatically transfer to LIAT 2020, emphasizing their commitment to avoiding such issues.

Additionally, Browne stated that LIAT 2020 would purchase the LIAT 1974 Limited brand name, despite the company’s liquidation, as a testament to their belief in its value.

He also disclosed that the Antiguan government would procure and provide planes for LIAT 2020, marking a promising step towards the airline’s revival.

This move demonstrates a commitment to revitalizing regional air travel in the Caribbean.

  1. PM Browne, do you care how the people you govern feel or not? While we are going through all kinds of hardships and misery, you are busy going about your own agenda which has nothing to do with us, like using valuable funds to pay for Alfa Nero and buying an airline?

    Don’t you hear the people? Does what they are saying mean anything to you? Don’t you care? Is it only about you and yours and what you want?

    Word of advice to you, Sir. History is full of many like you. Try doing some reading and see what happened to them.
