Calls for justice in the killing of Vondè Bowers are intensifying, with a public picket planned outside the High Court as his mother presses for accountability and transparency in the case.
A flyer titled “Picket Alert” circulating on social media announces planned action during court appearances on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th February 2026 at 2 p.m. at the High Court. It features Bowers’ photo and the words, “A bright life ended too early by violence. Never to be forgotten.”
Central to the protest is concern over the reported transfer of the juvenile accused in the murder to the Denis Bowers Rehabilitation Center. Bowers’ mother has questioned why the accused was moved from the 1735 facility, which she says is not legally permitted to house juveniles, while claiming other juveniles remain there.
In a widely shared post, she called for the transfer to be reversed and raised concerns about unequal treatment. The flyer also urges amendments to the Juvenile Act and questions whether others were involved in the fatal stabbing, citing a lack of recent public updates.
Family members and supporters say the picket is aimed at seeking clarity, consistent application of the law and justice for Bowers.
