Picket Ends as Townhouse Mega Store Workers Secure Collective Bargaining Deal

7

Approximately eight employees of Townhouse Mega Store have concluded a short picket outside their workplace at the American and All Saints Road intersection.

The workers staged the protest due to delays in finalizing their collective bargaining agreement, which aims to secure more holidays and wage increases.

Samuel James, President of the Antigua & Barbuda Free Trades Union (ABFTU), explained that disagreements over certain contract clauses caused the signing delay.

ABFTU engaged with Town House Mega Store management, sealing a 2021 agreement to initiate the resolution process.

Workers were subsequently urged to resume work, emphasizing the importance of communication and collaboration.(Observer)

  1. the go fire all are you.

Them love pay people meager salaries and a mek a ton a money.

  2. Why do Antiguans still continue to demonstrate this sickening fear and awe of certain ethnic groups now living among us. What is all this nonsense about fear of “de likkle man them?” and possible loss of jobs?? Antiguans had better monitor this situation going forward. There is much that needs to be exposed!
