Photos of two young women that the police accuse of being behind Sunday’s alleged illegal gathering were pictured today in shackles.

This after the police broke down the doors to their homes in the wee hours of the morning.

The two young ladies were photographed in lock up.

They maintain their innocence in what some see as government and police persecution.

    The inhumane treatment of the young man thrown into the back of a police pickup and the inhumane detention of two young ladies will be all brought to light at the judgement of those who orchestrated these acts. Rest Assured of that!

    The constitution gives the right to all for peaceful picket. That right can NEVER be taken away.

  4. Why the shackles? Are these women murderers or high risk criminals? The police are using bullying tactics to brutalized Antiguan citizens. Does Gaston agree with this treatment of Antiguans? We know that Cutie will follow whatever Gaston says. Someone said a past minister under VC Birds government told the police to shoot to kill. He was forever known as shoot to kill and VC government was voted out of office the next election.

The puppet commissioner Rodney and his goon squads are obligated to do the dirty works of the politicians. Understand, They must sing for their supper or else they will be fired by Gaston Brown. Rodney has now proved that he is just a clone of Gaston Browne. So many lies in the media! Unbelievable.
    Breaking down of these young ladies doors and parading them around in shackles and chains only prove that law enforcers are weak and strengthen the movement. The protest for fundamental human rights continue! Free all those arrested now!

    Is this Iran? Why are these ladies paraded in front of the media in shackles? The PC needs to be sacked. This is outrageous! Where is the UPP when Antiguans are being abused by this French mountain chicken?

    When Michael Browne was arrested and charged with criminality. Did you shackle him by hands and feet? I would guess not.However,you the Police arrested Damani Tabor.He was paraded with hands and feet shackled.Damn double standard inna Antigua.Where are those on REPARATIONS Committee to speak out on the abuse of these two ladies and others.Oh I forgot.They are in Gaston’s closets.Lazy,fat,arses.

  14. What ya’ll need to realise is this was done to send a message. Why shackles? Because they want to silence any opposition to their agenda, and what better way than to lock-up the alleged organizers. The government is creating civil unrest by fighting fire with fire. Let the ppl have a peaceful demonstration and go home, there is no need for show of force to increase tensions. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is what Gaston wants to try to use this to extend his term cause otherwise I do not see how he can win. I am 31 years old, never voted in my life, do not even have a voter’s I.D. and for the first time ever, I am considering it. I just wish the opposition party did not also seem so incompetent. We need new political parties that are ready to take us into the future. Covid shut down world tourism, but countries that have other industries are doing fine. The first thing our Gov’t could announce that they are doing to create jobs is create a State run Hotel(this was back in 2020) and at this point all the hotels on the Island were already nearly empty and this was your best idea? We lack vision and creativity in our leaders, they are to old-fashion and frankly too old. It is time to consider new industries and niche markets which we currently have the ability to do, some I know of, can even be combined with tourism because it does not mean tourism has to go away. We need CHANGE!

    Reminds me some years ago they encourage Ineta to sing a calypso implicating Gaston in her song. She was forewarned, but they UPP encourage her tell her they will pay her legal bill. It is very quite now around that, because she has come to realize that she is left alone in her trouble. And now she has reach out to Gaston for a settlement. And knowing the big heart of this man, he has agreed to this. I would have taken her straight to the cleaners and made her an example for others.

    • Gaston goes to the Wesleyan Holiness Church so maybe he still has some of his Sunday School lessons in him. You on the hand should stop edging up to Gaston for some crumbs, and go back where you come from.

  21. Clearly this is a publicity stunt to intimidate, dissuade and put fear in society. I have seen many individuals to include the “Vampire Killer” brought before the court without restraints. Leg restraints are reserved for individuals during transport from a penal institution, jail to a court hearing, medical appointments and in the rare case hospitalization. Usually extradited individuals are restrained in this manner when the transportation is provided by the government.

    This is all show. A heavy handed approach. Which will backfire on the sitting government and the police department sworn to protect its citizens from all enemies foreign and domestic.

    The detained posed no threat of escape, damaging government property or to the officers under there control.

    In the midst of all this. Those that may find themselves free today will one day find themselves in such a predicament.

    They will become high priority extradite. Then you will see a white unmarked plane on the tarmac at VCBIA. With the alphabet boys escorting them to there seats in leg irons, belly chain, handcuffs, black box with a padlock.

    • UPSET putting an accused in hand chains and in particular foot chains is reserved for UPP known supporters as a way to humiliate and demoralize. It is pure political persecution and not prosecution. It will not work just like it will not work with the two lady Freedom Fighters.
